northernmusician's Journal, 21 May 2015

It seems any time I let starchy carbs creep back into my diet the weight just stumbles around the same point. Cut them out and everything goes back to loss. Honestly? I was about here 2 weeks ago.

It's frustrating. If I can just lock it down for the next six weeks at somewhere betweeen 1700 and 1800 I should be able to hit my goal quite easily. It's just trying to find that enthusiasm that's difficult.
179.0 lb Lost so far: 6.0 lb.    Still to go: 4.0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

It is because our bodies treat high glycemic carbohydrates the same way they treat sugar.

I agree. It's getting away from it that's the issue. I believe a calorie is a calorie is a calorie until you hit the starches.

I agree about the carbs - I have been cycling them higher a couple days, then lower a couple days. I get to eat a little more some days and that seems to help.

Maybe try to keep focus on what is positive in your situation & let that motivate you with the finding enthusiasm part? It helps me :) For instance, when I really want a slice of pizza I *try* to focus on what the undesirable results will be if I eat it. Then I *try* to focus on what the desirable results will be if I instead eat a salad, perhaps with some of the same toppings only less & no crust! We KNOW we CANT have BOTH ways & get the results we want. We HAVE to choose. Whatever that choice is,be HAPPY with it! :)

Mya, I agree with what you said! :) You have to choose what is best for you and stick with it. NM, you have been at goal weight and you have been below and above. You know that going above goal weight makes you feel bad, and going below goal weight is unhealthy, too. You will get to your goal weight. You know I am not worried about that. :)
