I know it is Friday. I know I am working on positive thoughts. And yet ...

simple math doesn't work. I'm discouraged. I weigh more now than I did 20 days ago and even though I certainly have not been PERFECT I have exercised faithfully, tracked most days, eaten less than theoretically my body uses and I am still over 200 lbs.

UGH.

I am not a happy camper today.

I also don't have time to belabor the point or talk myself back into a positive space right now.

No. I am not "giving up" "going hog wild" or anything of the sort ... just frustrated and wondering if I will EVER see 180 again in life. I'm pretty sure starving myself isn't the answer but I must tell you I am tempted to join some diet craze or duct tape my mouth!!

I must shower and get dressed for work. Need to leave out of here in 45 minutes. Perhaps I'll undergo a change in attitude on my way to work.

In the mean time I will be and am grateful for ...

1. It is FINALLY Friday
2. At least "some" of my clothes fit on my body.
3. It is FINALLY Friday
4. My mom is having fun with her sister in California.
5. It is FINALLY Friday

Help me buddies ... moose is drowning in self-pity this morning!!!

Hey Carol! I wish I knew what to say. If you eat enough but nor too much, and you exercise and you drink your water and you sleep well there is no reason not to lose weight. So, it WILL happen! It's just a matter of days, you will see a loss. I understand the frustration, the impatience and I know you want to be rewarded for your effort. Because you deserve a reward! It will come, it has to. Hang in there!

Thank you Anne. I know you are right ... something has to give eventually. I fear I am impatient and I also fear I am doing something "wrong." I miss the old days when I lost easily.

Hi Carol, wish I had some magic solution or words of wisdom. Only good news is that its Friday!

Carol! Its not always about simple math. It is about clean eating, and finding inner strengh -er no stress, no negative thoughts. I'm going to comment more, just want you to see this post while you are online! :)

For me, its about getting the most nutrition for the least processed foods possible. I could be wrong but the special k bars are rice based (no nutrients?) and sugar and fats (sat f). I read high fruc corn syrup, corn syrup and sugar in one bar. The list of ingredients is WAY too long. Why? Did they have to 'add' everything to get nutrients in there. You are right about the numbers matching the kashi bars, I can't compare them. I think the Kashi endorses more 'clean' eating than Sk does. They had long list of ingts too but slightly better if you ask me. I was wrong, I might have said Luna but I meant Larabars. That is what I keep around, for an emergency snack. Those are simple ingredients.

Oh, my, I am sure that you can go back in your journal and find other days with similar worries! Hang in there - the universe will catch up with all your hard work and you will drop 3 pounds in one week!

Ha! Ha! Abba ... you may be right!! Obviously I just need to continue ... Cindy I tried a Larabar once and didn't think it tasted all that good ... do you flavor recommendations?

the pecan pie one is delish and the cashew one is good. I didn't like the ginger one, and I love those spices (in cake anyway LOL). The pb taste just like pb, I think. I know they aren't sweet or awesome, but they are natural.

Do you exercise regularly? Do you eat good most of the time? don't sweat it. I know its easy to say when it isnt me, but I am going through it too. I spin 5-6 days a week. A couple times out of the month I overeat. Well maybe not overeat maybe indulge is a better word. I talked to my trainer and she said so what. No rude or anything but so what. You workout 6 days a week and you want some TexMex dont kill yourself for having some. She said if I am getting ont he scale more than 2x a day I need to put it in the attic. Its amazing how a number can make us feel inferior. You know what I have started doing? Detoxing and I dont mean I am drinking things and sitting on the pot. It is an amazing detox that has lost me 3 inches in 72hrs in my stomach! Heres the link http://ashleelinnea.itworks.net/ I posted my very own pictures on facebook under Ashlee, It Works Independent Distributor Seriously I love it. I feel better, I look better, I have more self esteem and I enjoy myself a bit more. I dont freak out when we go out to eat once a week about how bad this will be on the scale in the morning. Be blessed

sooooooo what if you commit to hiding the scale for a few days and the commitment is to eating well and keeping up the exercise. I hate my scale. It's good guideline but isn't the measure of everything-chin up...as my friend carol reminds me ,the journey is long...don't get caught up in the weeds by the side of the road
