Hi, everyone! I hope you are well. To those who remember me, thanks for being here for me. I don't come every day now, due to my new job. I try to keep up with you all. For the new members, you came to the right place! I'm glad you joined FatSecret. The members here have so many tips to help. My method was always to burn more calories in exercise than the calories I would eat in my meal plan. Some people believe walking 45 minutes a day will lose the most fat, because if you tell yourself you must walk 60 minutes a day and you don't have time, you won't do it. 30 minutes a day of exercise will be a great help. If you cannot do that, just walk 10 minutes three times a day. Some people walk 5 minutes an hour. Last night I heard on the news that people should walk 2 minutes every hour, to get their blood circulating. I thoroughly believe that sitting in the chair too much is what made me fat and kept me fat. When I started walking to lose weight, I did not even walk fast enough to sweat, and I lost my weight slowly, but I finally made it to my goal weight. I wish you good luck! Take care, Deb

And ALL of us would also THANK YOU for being here for us...my best guess is a LOT of folks leave FS once they hit their goals(and I am NOT dis-respecting them)...But I AM thanking YOU for ALL of the encouragement YOU give every week...AND congrats on ALL of your achievements, including maintaining the BLUE line...Thanks Buddy :)

Deb, great job at keeping up!! I agree on setting your walking goal at something that fits into your week. I try to get up and move when I'm allowed to at work which is except at a break and lunch a quick run to the bathroom or break room or both. Lucky for me they are both a ways from my desk. I do it a bit different, as I walk more on weekends, I set mine for the week. Currently it's 70,000 but it used to be much less it's taken a couple years. So whatever fits you life make it work for you.

Hi Deb, good to see you back. I have just started a walking challenge and I have put Runkeeper on my phone. I find it very motivating because it measures how far I have gone, how fast, the altitude difference between the lowest and highest points and makes a map of my route. I can enter my weight in and it makes a graph. It tells me when I have beaten a previous record. I love it, and it's FREE!!!!
