I am not concerned by this weight 'gain' because i feel it is mostly water (even though there is prob an actual gain somewhere in there). We went to New Orleans for a week and i have eaten a lot of rich high calorie/fat food. I've also eaten a lot of salt and my eyes are quite puffy. I will say, in general I didn't feel that it was out of control eating, and that's good. My mindset was stable.

I decided not to keep a food journal for several reasons. Prob the biggest reason is that we sampled a lot of unusual food in New Orleans and it was going to be difficult to find the food or an equivalent. Also, i didnt want to spend a lot of time on the diary when i was giving myself permission to go above my RDI because of the special circumstances. And lastly, I'm coming up on my 1 yr anniversary of my diet and I decided I would try eating in moderation without guilt and do 'maintenance' (even though it was during a high calorie trip). Overall, I'm pleased with myself.

As i come upon my 1 yr mark, obviously I reflect on where I started. More importantly, I have a general plan of where I am going. I wont keep track of my food until I reach the actual 1 yr mark (Aug 13th). At that time I will try the Atkins approach to try to reduce my % of body fat and increase my lean muscle mass. In the mean time I am reading "The New Atkins" for info on how to do the program and "Made to Crave" to help with my mindset towards food.

I am excited. I'm halfway to my goal of "Fit By 40" - Ive lost the weight and now I'll tone up and build strength.
146.6 lb Lost so far: 30.4 lb.    Still to go: 6.6 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.
