RozieTK's Journal, 01 February 2015

So, went to a friend's house on Thursday warning her that I am on a diet. I took my own snacks and drink with me. It was a relatively long visit, and during that time she completely ignored what I explained to her earlier and offered me loads of food which I turned down all, her husband offered my drinks, vodka and tonic, I refused, but you only can refuse so many times without offending the host, so finally I ended up drinking that Vodka and diet tonic and consuming some nuts, which I shoul not have! And I went through explaining why I don't eat this and that maybe ten times each, it was draining.

New strategy, only visit friends who actually understand and care enough about what you want and not what they think you should want.

Ugh - I know what you mean about these kind of friends. A few kilos ago, I had heaps of friends telling me that I looked fine, good even, and that I shouldn't worry too much.

You are so right- a lot of diet sabotage out there. I find it's always easier just to say 'thank you, but I'm just not hungry'.

Now that I am on my own it will make things a lot easier. My first visit back to the doctors I was jubilant to find out that I had lost 3kgs and 4 cms around my middle which gave me heaps of hope.
