Wow, at least you are going to the gym! I hope that you do see a loss tomorrow!

My gym is extremely hard to avoid. All I do is walk downstairs in the house from my work location and there I am. The problem is, the guy that uses the place doesn't put back his weights properly half the time.

Smiles, I don't either, get up in the middle of the night, if I walk in the living room in the dark I'm liable to trip over a trampoline, at least the exercise ball gets out of the way...

I have a power rack, just over 300 pounds of weight (just about ready to buy more), dumbbells with spin on collars, an ez curl bar, a trap bar, and a pulldown cable which I use for pull downs and weighted crunches. It works really well for me.

Grins, mine is minimal, so I have some at home. Weights are a 40# dumbbell set and home other hand weights I go to the gym for most. $10.00 a month for one, the other (limited hours community center) is $20.00 a year can't heat that.....

I only have cardio equipment at home and a well used beat up yoga mat. I envy you all that lift weights. I got bored with the machines at the gym and have not a clue how to properly use free weights. I am sure that pound will be gone in the blink of an eye!

Nicholaix, does your gym have a trainer available or anyone to assist you? my gym has one who is free, I'm going to set up a session with her later this spring for some help on the weights. There is also a lot of info available on line and in the library.

Most gyms will at least have someone give you a walk through. I love free weights. They accommodate my motion, rather than me having to accommodate their motion. I always seem to get injured one machines. Found an exercise to fix the ol' rotator cuff/shoulder impingement problem I've been having. Day 3. It felt better on day 1 after I tried it. I can sleep now without having to worry about which shoulder I lie on.

My schedule is unconventional at best and our local gym has limited hours for trainers, it's like everyone settles in for the winter lol. My ashtanga keeps me fairly toned and after I finish up school theoretically I will have more time to experiment with weight lifting. Geez I hear you about the rotator cuff, I tore mine almost 2 years ago and it still gives me trouble from time to time. Though I still say that was the best sledding day with my kids EVER lol!

Up a pound - but it happened on your way back down. As for the rotator cuff exercise, would you send me a link? Much appreciated.

I've posted it as a new journal entry to make it easier to get to the link.
