TRYING AGAIN! It's no lie that graveyard work puts on weight. I have never weighed this much in my entire life. I will give it a go, preparation and commitment are the keys. Not sure if this will work, but it can't hurt! I will end my graveyard shift in April. Hopefully, until then I will not gain anymore.

Yep, graveyard shifts are horrible for weight control. Cortisol levels are highest at about 3 AM. That means eating at that time is far more likely to see the food stored as fat. My understanding is it has to do with the natural cycle related to sunlight. Go figure. Maybe a sads lamp would help? Has anyone ever tried that for weight control on graveyards? Anyone, anyone... Bueller?

lol actually I got all messed up when a couple of my babies stayed up all night and slept all day. I gained all this weight I am currently trying to lose. Believe it or not tanning booths on a regular schedule helped me alot get back to a normal eating and sleeping schedule. I tried to keep my eating to normalish times even when I was up all night but clearly it didna work for me.....There must be some nurses or policemen on here with some good ideas

It's amazing the power of light. Did you know Edison wanted to make the electric light so there would be enough light that people wouldn't need to sleep anymore? Edison was known for only needing four hours of sleep a night. If we could go back in time, maybe we could talk him out of it. At least we'd get enough sleep half the year.

Wow! For some reason I just now saw your comments! Thanks so much for your understanding and support. I am trying to only drink water and an occassional protein shake during my shift. Maybe then my body will be "kinda" normal. I can't wait until I'm off that shift!
