northernmusician's Journal, 06 December 2014

It's funny, because, on the days where I fast for half of the day, I'm not hungry until I eat something. Once that initial food has been eaten it's like I have no control. It's annoying.

Rocker, Mya is being far too practical.

I agree with Mya. I don't fast, I've found it doesn't help for long term weightloss, however, I used to skip breakfast and lunch, and just eat dinner... These days, I am try to drink 1-2 full glasses of water before eating anything, to ensure I'll feel full without over-eating. I've switched to eating an apple, peach, or making a smoothie (both options typically stand in for both breakfast and lunch), then I eat a salad or sandwich for dinner, except on days off from work where I'll make a hot meal (salmon, chicken, or turkey with lots of veggies and few, if any, carbs). I've found that I get more nutrients, since the majority of my meals are fruits and vegetables, which helps keep me feeling less apt to snack or gorge! Try it, it takes some willpower and self-motivation, but once you get in the swing of things, its a cinch! The pounds melt away! I started at 185 lbs on Nov 1st, and by Dec 1st I was 172 lbs. 6 days later, I'm at 169 lbs. It works great! I try to get 10k footsteps or 30 min of cardio a day, which helps a bunch too, but what you do in the kitchen matters more than what you do in the gym! Good luck!

I'm craving tomatoes and tomato products like ketchup. I hate ketchup lol. I must need something in them.

I think fasting is great if the end result is for the day you remain in a caloric deficit. If you become ravenously hungry once you do eat it's definitely not a good thing because you obviously put yourself at risk of eating more than you should.I like IF but I don't it works well for everyone. You could always try doing the complete opposite and eat a bunch of smaller meals every few hours equaling the same amt of calories you wish to eat for the day. At the end of the day how much you eat is way more important then when you eat it, as far as fat loss goes anyway. Now if I could only follow my own advice lol

IF works well for me too. If I eat breakfast I'm hungry all day. If I wait until noon I'm all good and stay within my calories.
