wow so didn't expect for the results of the first day of my diet is to start off with gaining a pound. Hopefully that is just left over from the day before? I drank extra water and did extra exercise, no clue why that happened. not going to weigh myself tomorrow so i don't get discouraged and quit of out anger lol.
224.0 lb Lost so far: 12.0 lb.    Still to go: 74.0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

Weight can vary a lot day to day, too many variables can affect it. Don't get discouraged, just keep at it and as you said it might be better not to weigh every day for now. Even if the weight doesn't come off as you'd like right away try to look at it as learning/adjusting/evaluating what you're doing and make changes as needed...that way you'll figure out what is needed and know what you need to do. It takes a few days to get there, last time I did a cleanse I gained 5 lbs in the first 2 days...you're storing water probably, once that starts leaving your body you'll see a difference....

Any change in exercise can cause muscles to retain water which can show on the scale as a temporary gain, smaller than usual loss or no loss. Google "why the scale lies" for insight in to water weight fluctuations. Simple things like sodium, stress, lack of sleep, medicine, sickness, inflammation etc. and more can all affect our water weight and the daily shifting.

As JMB says, it varies from day to day. Three pounds can be added to your weight very easily by change in clothing, full bladder and bowel movements and you ladies have the extra monkey wrench once a month. I usually weigh into FS every Friday, but I do weigh myself everyday to keep track of my progress. I always weigh first thing in the morning after my morning emptying of the bladder, and I always wear shorts and a T-shirt. Don't be discouraged by the numbers. A lot of times it takes the body time to catch up to you. Good luck.
