Johanne's Journal, 25 September 2014

I avoided entering my weight after that week of falling off my elimination diet. Yesterday morning I was 234 lbs. This morning, after one day away from home, I'm 239 lbs. I didn't take my Lasix yesterday (congestive heart failure) and, once again, went totally off my ED because I wasn't home. The combination was fatal! I'm entering this weight even though it's so embarrassing. Thank goodness for FS. It keeps me totally aware. I'm going camping this weekend. I'm planning to take my own food, not eat at the inn and feast. It's not as much fun, but I'll enjoy the other activities and the company.
239.0 lb Lost so far: 40.0 lb.    Still to go: 39.0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

Thanks, Mom. I know that's true. I will have dropped quite a bit by tomorrow morning but Thursday is my weigh in day and I hated putting that weight down. :-) Except for yesterday, I'm back to eating correctly and not having too many issues with it, thank goodness. The last few days, I've just been hungrier than usual, for some reason. As long as I stay on my ED diet, I'm not going to worry about a few calorie laden days. I wish it was as easy to lose weight as it is to gain!

Even if checkered by failure, you are still more successful than if you didn't try. Keep on keeping on; you'll get there. Have fun camping!

Thanks, DK. I'm still 40 lbs lighter than I was when I started this journey. FS has been a life saver. It should be a really great camp-out with about 300 of my favorite friends in a "Medieval" village. There will be fighting and horses and classes and singing and bonfires and . . .

We love camping, and I find that if I take boiled eggs, turkey bacon, fruits, and already cut up veggies I seem to not miss the high calorie stuff so much. It's hard to sit there and eat your food when everyone else is eating stuff that you want!

You got this. This is all part of the learning how your body responds. Each time will make it easier to stick to the food that nourishes and heals your body. Don't think of the food you are not eating as deprivation. Try and look at it as something that is essentially poison to you and your system. You wouldn't give your best friend something to eat that would make them feel sick and gain weight, right? So take care of yourself like you would anyone you love. Focus on the social and other aspects of your event. Those are why you are really there, right?

Oh what fun you have planned, Bonnie! Nothing like camping in a Medieval tent village with 300 of your closest friends! LOL! I think that would be so cool! Have fun!! Take your Lasix!! If you can eat celery ... and drink lemon water ... it helps a ton!

Like you, I have a tendency to feel embarrassed when my weight isn't where I want it. We need to get over it! Have a wonderful time camping! :)
