aggie95's Journal, 19 September 2014

Had a fun day yesterday. We went and saw lots of tractors and equipment. My little guy had a great time climbing on the equipment and checking everything out. The weather was cool but the sun was warm. I walked around all day with a backpack on. So I got a workout in. I wished I had my pedometer on to see how much I did.

Came home last night and I was checking our email and found out that I'm scheduled for surgery for my hernia on Oct. 17. Four weeks. And the instructions went on to say that I need to lose another 10 lbs. I don't think I'll lose that much but I will try for at least 5 lbs. I talked to work today and my manager is fine with me taking the time off. Better to get it done and out of the way now before Christmas holidays.

Skipped lunch time run today. I'll do lots of walking tomorrow behind the lawnmower.

Have a great weekend!
169.4 lb Lost so far: 32.6 lb.    Still to go: 5.4 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

Glad you had fun! Holy cow, hernia surgery! My hubby had that done a few years back and it was not fun for him, he has no pain tolerance at all, but all the staples he had and some of the side effects looked painful. I hope the surgery goes well for you. Maybe the surgery will actually help you lose more anyway because that nuisance will be gone.

Thanks Mars! The hernia is small and there is no pain but they (doctors) tell me it will get bigger and painful. Better to nip this one in the butt now!!! Just getting stressed though!! I'm scared about the aftermath mostly. Like how long will it take to recover and when can I exercise again.

I'm glad you are taking care of your health. How positive you go into surgery will determine how you do afterwards. Since I have had a few I know. Make your post surgery plans now, like what kinds of foods to buy and all that and it will make it easier then.

That's the funny thing, I have no pain at all.

Wow .. that would be a lot to lose and scary w/the threat of surgery. Thinking about that. Why weight loss for surgery?
