Yesterday I did 37 minutes in the gym. Today, after a week of more active exercise than usual, I'm down to 217 lbs. I mentioned my weight to my mother this morning, when I phoned her. She said 'that's still too much, you'd be happier weighing 75 kilos [165 lbs] and it would be more convenient for you.'

¿Tu crees, mamá?

Anyway, there's encouragement for you.

I'm off to Curaçao in the morning, and will be gone for the next week. Not for a holiday, but for professional reasons. I'm worried about keeping to a strict regimen while travelling. Conferences and meetings are not the most wonderful things for the health or the diet.


217.0 lb Lost so far: 120.0 lb.    Still to go: 49.0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

Mamma's, you gotta love em, eh? Enjoy your trip even though its for business. Do the best you can with your food plan. This is a for life plan, so just do the best you can and get back on track when you come home. Good luck.

Oh no! What a discouraging comment from mom. My mother has the opposite reaction. When I visit her, she shoves all kinds of fattening foods and sweets at me. "How about some cheesecake?" I get this every time I visit.

Mothers! They just don't get it sometimes and think everything is easy and we don't always get the encouragement or support we think they shoud give us. That's why I try so hard to be a different kind of mother. We just have to realize that we are doing great and the best we can and just forgive them for who they are....oh and just hope and pray we don't turn out like them,..lol Have a great trip I know you will do just fine.

Well I am sorry your mom hasn't encouraged you more. I think 120 lost is fantastic!!!!! That is a whole person by any means..Keep up your hard work and I know you will find away to do well while away.. Besafe on your journey.........Bren

Sounds like my dad, he wont giveme any praise until I'm skinny and a size 1 like my sister. i'm like sorry dad i will never be as small as her. Keep doing what your doing and know that what you have accomplished is amazing. And its all about you being happy with you.
