wow, my body is really getting back into the groove! I can't believe after a stand still for so long (after I went off my woe and started to climb back up in weight) that I am on my way down to where I was before I went OFF! Whew, this couldn't have come at a better time in my life, believe me! Without getting into detail, just know that I was almost at my breaking point. AND NOW I am determined to keep going. Oh it is not just because IT (scale) shows my weight going down, there is so much more I have to be thankful for. I must admit I have my share of stress and not so good things happening right now in my life, BUT the difference between now and the past is that I've come to realize that it doesn't matter what I eat the THINGS will still be there, so why not eat what works for my body? This woe is not easy but then again it is not difficult! It has taken alot for me to turn away from fast food & drink and get into the habit of low carb, I've taken a lot of 'stuff' from friends and family about my woe, BUT let me tell you, as I told them (and have to KEEP telling them) "THIS WORKS FOR ME"! It may not be what works for you BUT it works for me. Sorry I can't have your home made cup cake, cookies, pizza, bread, etc etc, BUT I still care about you and you should care about me and my decision to carry through with WHAT WORKS FOR ME! I have to keep that in mind every time my friends and family give me that 'look'. I am Italian American with French in there also, sooooo you have to know that food plays a big part in life. I just have to keep remembering this feeling I have right now; CONTROL over WHAT WORKS FOR ME!
I'm going out of town tomorrow afternoon and might be off & on depending on the wifi access I have over the weekend.

162.2 lb Lost so far: 35.8 lb.    Still to go: 24.2 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

Hey Joyce - a dear friend just recently said something to me that just about floored me! "So, how do I change my life to resemble yours? ... You literally EAT to live - and I (this is my friend talking) Live to EAT!" WOW!!! Someone actually close to me can SEE those changes. Changes that take place in mindsets, behaviors and attitudes. I still grocery shop like everyone else. I still eat 3 main meals a day, and even one or two snacks along the way. I figured out a long time ago that if I fueled my body for success...it was happy! And when I deviated - I was NOT! :) That's what I told her. When you're ready to stand up for yourself, take ownership of your own body, your own eating lifestyle - you can make any adjustments, changes, etc... you want. People do it every day. I've done it. You're doing it... and now she's looking into doing it. HOW she does it - or how your family chooses to eat, live, or whatever... you have no control over. But how YOU do it... it's all YOU! Just smile in the confidence that you are doing the very thing that is the BEST for you! What more could anyone want for you? Much Love, My friend. Enjoy your time off! But stay focused on being true to YOU!
