Asarver's Journal, 23 August 2014

I've lost 4 pounds since Monday!!! Wow. Now, since it's my first week on the diet, I can't be sure if it's water weight or actual weight that I've lost. I'm feeling good about this considering I broke a little yesterday and had a small piece of cake and some munchkins (they were SO good).

My scale can tell you how much body fat you are (I know it's not super accurate, but it's somewhere to start). I'm sure it's nothing to worry about, but my body fat % was increasing every day. It started going back down again yesterday but I still think it's weird.

Today is CHEAT DAY though. According to the diet, we're allowed to pretty much go all out and eat whatever we want. I don't think I'm going to gorge myself, but I need some damn carbs. It'll be interesting to see how much weight I gain post cheat day, and how it affects me the rest of the week.

Hope everyone has a good weekend!

Be careful, do not cheat too much. All of that 4 lbs lost can be regained very quickly! I know by experience...Keep going on what you are doing... success will come...

The first week tends to be more water, but not always. It depends on how much you have changed your diet. When we lose weight, we are actually losing water and fat from our cells. If you don't eat enough protein, you can also lose muscle. You don't want to lose muscle, because the more muscle you have, the more calories you burn at rest, the more easily losing weight becomes and maintaining (hence why men lose faster and can eat more and stay slimmer). You are off to a great start.

Even if I were to gain 4 lbs back after one cheat day, the weight would be lost very quickly (within a few days) because your body can't hold on to that much food in such a short period of time. If I were to continue eating like that, it'd be a different story. ;p @Suzi161 how do you know if the amount of weight you are losing isn't too much? I'm sure there is a healthy 'limit' on the amount of weight one should lose in a certain time frame.
