Sunshine, lollipops, and rainbows.... Where the heck did that come from. It would seem grade 2 music class is coming back to haunt me. :|

Looks like a nice day. I'll get out for a walk today but it's sure not the same as with the dog. I have to get one this fall. I hear a crow (it seems they've adopted my yard) land on the roof and it sounds just like Ginger jumping onto the front step. It makes me very sad.

A bit of encouragement for you all. After you've cut down to the weight you're looking for you get to eat more. Of course, it's not as much as what you used to eat, but after serious calorie deficits, it's a lot of food. You can also vary it quite a bit and have some of the 'bad' ones from time to time as long as it's measured and weighed. The end of the road is a nice, satisfying (on many fronts), and tasty place to be. Hang on everyone. Sometimes it hurts. It gets better.

Everybody hurts.

I think that a puppy is a good idea :-) I have already put in a RDI calculator my info, to see how much will I be able to eat (with exercise) when I will be maintaining my weight and it's 1700 cals. It's more then what I'm eating now so that will be OK.

Yay for the good days coming. I look forward to them. That's a great R.E.M. song. I haven't heard that song in a while.

Snezica. You may want to go to IIFYM dot com and use their TDEE calculator. (Total Daily Energy Expenditure.) It's more accurate than the RDI calculator on FS. It's still just a ballpark guess though. Simplest is to hit maintenance and still get on the scale. It will tell you within a couple of weeks whether you've got it right or not.

It's actually a Leslie Gore song from 1965, thanks for the ear worm, BTW

I was referencing the "Everybody Hurts" by R.E.M link in blue. Yep, I just check out that Leslie Gore song and it's a little too happy for me right at this moment. :)

So sorry you are still missing Ginger. As you know, I know what you are going through. If you are ready for a new dog this fall I am sure it will help.

Yes. Just think, a poor dog stuck in a rescue shelter somewhere. Maybe?

Thank you. I have checked out that site but I prefer the RDI calculator from another site. Fat secret is too generous. When I will be maintaining my weight then I'll be weighting myself weekly :-)

NM it took me 3 months when my last dog died before I was ready for another one. That replacement dog has now been here 7 1/2 years and just took her new soup bone upstairs to hide it in now the 6th place in 3 hours. You're a dog person so you know the special joy they give us. My will is set up that everything I own is to be sold and all profits donated to the shelter where I got my last 3 dogs. You'll know when it's time for the next set of paws to hit your floor.

Every time I've lost a dog it takes a while before I stop missing/expecting to see/hear things the dog used to do. A new pooch will fill that void when the time is right. Thanks for the reference to being able to eat more once goals are reached, that really is an encouragement and makes the current deficit and at times hunger more manageable.

Yes, sunshine and lollipops doesn't really suit me as a song. I prefer other. REM was good. Tom Petty. Bruce Cockburn. Neil Young. Ah.... I think we may be looking for a dog that has been loved but the people can't care for any longer. Not too old. 2 or 3 would be great. We'll have to see what opportunity presents.

Neil Young!!!!! And oh yes. A pre-loved dog. What could be more fabulous than giving some poor dawgie a great home! Do let us know what happens but only when the time is right for you NM. Sucker for a lovely story I am.
