Have discovered that eating late at night keeps me from losing weight. Its a long time habit but the evidence is clear that my body will not burn off calories I eat at night....soooo goodbye night time eating. I am going to miss you. Hope I can do it, its like taking a drug away from a drug addict.

oh rats! me too! I KNOW it's true and won't give it up. Nighttime is my fav time to eat! Perhaps it's because I have no hobbies and am in my pj's as soon as I get in the door and there is nothing else to do? When I do go out in the evening-it's always a dinner date and involves eating and drinking until 10-111PM. I will try to give it up too-on our misery loves company plan. What time is the cut off?

Densible, I am a late night person. I figure if I can just stop eating by 9 PM I am doing good. We don't eat our supper until about 7pm. We started going to bed earlier (11pm hehehe). I think what time we stop eatting depends on how late we stay up, don't you? those in bed by 10pm and up at 6am are great...I just have never had the luxury of the luxury of those early to bed times. What time do you think is the proper shut down on eating? I usually make some sort of diet friendly dessert or snack for after supper, we usually hold off eating it til we are in front of the television. I thin 9pm is a good time to stop. what do you think?? BTW Im only checking in here about once a week, but would love to try this with you as support. Glad you are still here.

I have the same issue. I've know for years and struggle. But with menopause so much worse. After a long day I enjoy spending the evening watching TV or doing nothing, but the snacking. Habits are so hard. Even if I get busy doing something else or reduce snacks... it always seems to creep back into my life. I also eat late so should not be hungry. I've been thinking of trying to brush/floss my teeth earlier in the evening as a trigger to stop eating... I should start today and use as my cutoff time.

Brushing teeth is a good idea-it sometimes works for me WHEN I can get myself to do it! Good luck:) It's after 8PM and I still have not had dinner. Time's a ticking!

Its good to know I am not alone in this battle. Meonadiet gave me an idea! I have teeth whitening trays and I hardly ever find time to actually use them because sleeping with them makes my teeth sensitive to hot and cold...so I could easily put those in after my snack at night. absolutely cannot eat with those trays in my mouth, I'm lucky to sip water from a straw. I think I will try that
