Deb_N's Journal, 09 August 2014

Years ago, I remember a study where women were asked to exercise 30, 45 or 60 minutes a day. They all lost weight, but surprisingly the ones who did it for 45 minutes lost the most weight. Of course the 45 minute group would lose more than the 30 minute group, but they also lost more than the 60 minute group, because those women often said they did not have time for 60 minutes so they did not do it. Just do as much as you can, and try to do a little more each day!
152.2 lb Lost so far: 49.8 lb.    Still to go: 16.2 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

I think I read that report as well. There are several things like that.. like a group that ate a high cal breakfast w/donut or cookie actually lost more weight than the one's eating a low cal no cookie. I tend to think 'it's a trap!' Paranoid me. I agree on the exercise. Anything is better than nothing so don't let not being about to do 60 from keeping you from doing anything.

I think it becomes a lot easier when you enjoy the exercise you do. When you have time to watch 60min of tv, you just have to make the decision to exercise instead.

I think you do what you have time for. I know some days my schedule allows more than others.

Also studies show that if you do too much exercise in one day you equal it out by doing less the rest of the day. It's the body's instinct to catch up on rest! @the men who made us thin.:-)

for every scientific study, there is another study proving them wrong! Use your own brain and feel your own body!

Even 20 min is good if high-intensity or interval training :)

So true puhpine. When I go to the gym it's at least an hour often 1.5 to get through my routine. It covers my whole body, sometimes due to time or breathing I quit at an hour and leave a few out. Non gym days it's less. I need to get back to my 3 days at the gym week. This week Monday and Thursday for sure, those are my come home and crash days due to stress, going to the gym will knock out that stress. Dreamcatcher, it's amazing how much exercise will help your knee.
