Because my weight has increased while my clothes continue to get looser, I have to conclude that the exercise has helped convert some fat into muscle there bye causing the weight increase. Good but discouraging at the same time as the primary goal is to lose the weight. Damn Exercise!!!!

Not sure if you have a similar problem but I was fit and fat. I was building muscle but not really losing "fat" or the amount I wanted. Being insulin resistant, exercise only made my condition worse and I was at an all time high weightwise while I was working out 5 days a week doing weights, spinning class, total body workout classes. What I did, I stopped working out for a while, eliminated processed carbs that convert to sugar easily--processed breads, cereals, foods high in sugar (or reducing greatly) and increasing my vegetable intake and good fats (omega 3's) by body responded with fat loss (I reversed the insulin resistance). It looks like you have diabetes so already insulin and leptin (the hormone that regulates body fat) don't communicate well to begin with. Just watch what you eat and eliminate those foods that are wasted calories and interfere with your insulin/lepin "relationship" :)

Exercise is good, muscle gain is good, but we all want results on the scales! Overall, you are doing great.
