I'm taking the day off tomorrow to do yard work and maybe get a bike ride in. As an exercise, I put together a menu for the day to see what it would take to meet all of my nutritional goals. 30 grams of fiber, 100 grams of protein, as low sugar as possible, and under 1800 calories.
I came out a little high on calories, but with the physical activity I have planned for the day, that will be fine. It's tough to eliminate sugar while eating fruit, but the ratio of carbs to sugar seems quite good and most of the sugar is offset by fiber so I think that's probably not an issue. I'll give this a try and see how it goes. If I like it, I may try to structure my diet a bit more to follow these objectives.

I don't count fruit sugar as bad. Just the added sugars....I mean, even carrots are loaded with sugar if you want to get right down to it...and they are a vegetable! I think if you stick to the natural sugars found in the diet by eating whole and less processed, and just try to eliminate the "added" sugars, you're doing great.
