mars2kids's Journal, 06 June 2014

I stepped on the scale this morning expecting to see no change or a gain and was surprised by a .8 lb loss. I've been keeping up with my exercise this week and staying right at my RDI, so something was just working for me this week I guess. I'm going to wait to weigh in again until either June 27th or July 4th, so either before a wedding or before our 5K.

I can't begin to explain how happy I am that it's Friday! I'm so ready for the weekend. Of course today is National Donut Day too, so someone brought donuts in the office, but I ate a decent breakfast so I passed them up in the kitchen and will resist them today. Yesterday one of the ladies I work with got us all cake pops from Starbucks. I've never tried a cakepop, and it was delicious, but one was definitely enough and I managed to work it into my day and not do too bad. Tomorrow is a wedding, so there will be food and cake, but we don't know a lot of people, and I don't tend to eat much at those events because I'm trying to mingle awkwardly or make sure my kids aren't being hellions. I am going to allow myself a piece of cake though and I'm not even going to feel bad about it. :)

I wasn't thinking I would be able to get a workout in on Saturday because of the wedding, but it sounds like we're just going to the reception which doesn't start until 5:30. It's only a 45 min. drive, so I should have plenty of time to do something, but we'll see what my hubby wants to get done before we go. Maybe I can go shoe shopping? Tonight though I am doing a workout, no excuses not to, so it's getting done.

My BIL finally proposed to his GF yesterday. I'm so excited for them!! They are both great people and go so well together, so I'm glad they're going to make it official. So, with that news, another SIL being pregnant with her first child, my brother and his GF having a baby and getting engaged, it's been a good year for my family! Lots of happiness here, and I'm so glad I get to be part of it. I'll be floating on a positivity cloud all day. :)

Have a great weekend!!

Great job avoiding the donuts! I've found usually if you wait long enough, they're all gone by mid-day. If they're still there and I'm still wanting one, a half will do it. But, I usually talk myself out of it cause I know the crash that will happen cause the sugar. Good luck tomorrow!!

donuts used to be one of my favorite and damaging foods. my girlfriend gave me 6 donuts for my birthday, (some friends just don't get it) and I brought them home and planned to give them to my husband to take to work. But guess what happened? I ate one that night and one in the am before he went to work. i didn't accomplish my goal but I found out something very interesting. THEY WEREN'T AS GOOD AS I REMEMBER THEM TO BE. So now I don't think it is something I will crave or feel like I "can't have it". Learn something new every day…..

Thanks all! Kiki you're right as long as I can avoid them until about lunch time then they'll all be gone! CCerza I love donuts, they are a weakness for me and I will have them from time to time, but they taste much better if I haven't had one in a while, so I try to only do one every few months or so. :)
