Annabelle3117's Journal, 30 May 2014

Good morning everyone. I'm glad I'm not a cat; curiosity would have killed me by now seven times over. Not entirely sure where that loss came from but I guess overall it hasn't been a bad six weeks. Lost five pounds, didn't start smoking again... hell yeah, I'll take it.

I learned a lot during my Trust fall challenge. Most importantly I learned that I know what it takes to lose a pound and love myself without constant affirmation from the scale. I never woke up to a bad fluctuation and let it completely ruin my day, or make me feel like my efforts weren't good enough. I had a lot of bad days. Seems like some of the most stressful events happened during my six week challenge lol, isn't that the way it goes. But every day that I could pick myself up off the floor and start over was a win, and obviously has paid off.

Today I have a lunch date with a friend of mine, woohoo. But first I'm working this morning, then heading to the gym. Looking forward to this weekend. My SIL is having a birthday party for her daughter tomorrow, going to go flaunt my success for a while. Might have a lil bonfire Saturday night. It's going to be a nice weekend, regardless of what my mother and brother chose to do with theirs.

Oh, and I grilled some asparagus last night and was shocked at how much the hubs and kids loved it. Also, my sons preschool teacher doubles as a Zumba instructor. I'm not sure yet but I was thinking maybe that would be something my daughter and I could do together a couple days a week (if I can afford it). She is only ten, but I try to keep her active. The girl likes to eat lol.

I guess that's all for now buddies. Happy Friday everyone, hope you all have a great day!!

FANTASTIC!!! I agree with you, it's not so much what I've lost as not seeing it go up temporarily. Zumba would be great to have some "together" time with your daughter. Your idea of a bonfire on Saturday sounds great too - I can see you now with griddled veg, a lean chicken breast and a beer to celebrate a successful challenge :-D Have a great day and weekend!

Great job! The weight loss is fantastic but I think I am more proud of you for not smoking! That in itself is a huge accomplishment.

Great job! I'm so glad you stopped smoking. My brother was just diagnosed with COPD. The first thing they told him was to stop smoking.

Great job! I strongly recommend Zumba with your daughter. My daughter is now 14 but she started going to kickboxing with me when she was 7. I asked if she could participate instead of going to the babysitting room and they said as long as she did the workout and didn't fool around it was fine. Well, we did a lot of bonding during the drives to and from kickboxing in addition to the exercise. I'm proud of her and since then, even though the class ended, we did Zumba after that and now Hip Hop Cardio. She's a little too cool right now to be my buddy all the time and instead goes to the cardio and nautilus with other family, but I'm sure that time investment will make a difference in the long run.
