I created the chocolate addicts challenge! I am struggling to give up chocolate and all sweets so if you are struggling with similar things (all junk food!) then join me in this challenge to give it up for 4 weeks(and hopefully longer) and replacing the time usually spent eating it by doing something healthy! studies show you should replace bad habits with good ones for the best success! it starts in 10 days but I am going to start reducing to once a week until then. A little treat each sunday and then cold turkey for a month;-);-);-);-)

:D Chocolate Addicts Challenge! njashka, I joined your challenge! Thank you for telling us about it. Giving up chocolate for 4 weeks sounds great. I can save my money to buy chia seeds. I want to check out hemp hearts, too. Never tried them before. Good luck on the Chocolate Addicts Challenge!

Yay! I'm ready for this Chocolate Addicts Challenge! :D

Me too! Can't wait! I loved the concept of replacing it with something positive!

That's really a great idea! If you can hold it for 15 days, and you will! It's peace of cake from there on. You will only be tempted when very hungry so avoid those situations :) Really stock up on those natural tasty alternatives and have them always at hand. I found that, having chocolate in my fridge all the time helped me resist buying it (and eating it) when I was away from home. Otherwise I would feel anxiety that it was like too far lol. I'm confident you'll do it! :)

I love the sugar free dark chocolate covered almonds as a snack. However, I've decided that for this Chocolate Addicts Challenge I am only going to eat oven roasted unsalted almonds as a snack instead. I'm watching my sodium every day. :D

I eat those too deb! Sodium is something I like to watch too I really feel it if I've had too much I feel really thirsty and then have to pee all night;-) resulting in bad sleep and bad weight the next day!

Just a warning. It will feel impossible at some point, but if you keep saying, one more day, it will turn out completely possible :)

I remember promising myself sweets/ chocolate at the end of those 15 days if it kept that unbearable, but then it got easier lol
11 May 14 by member: euheide
That also helped heheheh

That sounds like the perfect thing to do telling myself just one more day. When I succeed I'll probably be telling myself that forever!lol

heheheh from a certain point on, you will be able to increase the number of days but, it really helps to only commit for 1 day lol. That way you only have to deal with that day and the rest is another story. One day at a time heheheh :) I remember thinking "tomorrow I will eat sweets if I can't hold it, but I will hold it today" lol and that went on for days until all the days have passed. But reporting the results here and having you guys supporting me here really helped! :)

Yes it already helps that I committed to starting because I'll feel a bit embarassed if I fail my own challenge! It's a great motivation! I need a good weigh in soon to lift my mood!

This journal and the replies have been motivating to me! Thanks!

Not only does it feel a little more disappointing if one can't do it when logging the results (possibly because we feel like we set up an audience for a positive result heheheh), but it also feels much better when one logs a positive result and that small victory definitely makes the difference and keeps us going heheh ;)
