bbosch30's Journal, 03 May 2014

I've weighed in a couple of times this morning and have had mixed results. decided to go with the best rather than the worst.

I'm not sure why I'm going up... I feel like my body is a bit more bloated than normal... my feet and hands seem swollen. digestive wise I've seen improvement this morning. another thing I don't understand... why do I feel so blocked up all week?

I find that I'm getting so frustrated. All was going well and now it's spiking upwards again.

I know weight is nothing more than a momentary reflection and especially as a woman it's even more complicated thanks to the world of hormones and salt sensitivity but knowing things doesn't make me feel any better.

What I want is to feel comfortable in my body again. to look in the mirror and be happy with that reflection. what makes it worse was that I was there!

I'm doing everything by the book... my only endulgance is peanut butter. and really I've given everything else that I loved up, I need to have one thing. I even make it myself so that I'm 100% sure what's there.

Anyway, rant over. just needed to vent this frustration.

Fluxuation is natural - remember to care about the overall trajectory, not the individual day. And since stress is our number one enemy - we can't let the scale dictate our mood for the day. I totally understand where you're coming from. I've seen the same things on my daily weigh ins. Also - are you just measuring weight or also body fat? Going up in weight, is a good thing - as long as it is because you're dropping body fat and gaining muscle.

Yes, it's tough when you see the scale go up and you are doing everything you can to make it go down. Make sure you drink water/liquids. Watch your sodium! What are you doing for exercise? When you don't have a lot to lose and are already at a low weight, exercise can be your best friend. If you are able, be active! A pedometer is great and you can aim for 10,000 steps a day. If you already exercise, switch it up. Upping the intensity can help with fat loss. Being active really helps with weight loss.

Firstly, thanks for everyones support :) Much appreciated! I'm not one to exercise...I go through phases with exercising, but generally speaking I've been able to loose quite successfuly in the past without it. With the weather improving I am probably going to get back into maybe some cardo and some yoga. But for now no exercise. But I do try to stay somewhat active - lots of walking (especially one weekends) and just try not to be too lazy. Somehow, the last two weeks it seems I'm spiking upwards. Its partly down to stomach/digestion problems - but I think it might be that I'm eating too much peanutbutter. So for the rest of this week I'm cutting it out and adding flax to my salad/yogurt. The flax on its own I'm sure will cause some retention so I'm just seeing how this week play out a bit.
