AmethystM's Journal, 24 March 2011

It's official! I'm heading towards a new, smaller-sized wardrobe! Yesterday I was able to pull my size 6 jeans down without unbuttoning them.

Also have been talking to a friend who recently started Weight Watchers with no success. She's looking at Atkins today, and if she decides to do it, I'm going over to Atkins her home Friday and cook her lunch. She eats chicken, so I've got to figure out something nice she'll like for her first meal.

Lol @ "Atkins her home"! WOW at the size 6...with my frame I think that's physically impossible for me, lol. How sweet of you to do that for her - assuming she decides to proceed, of course. I love oven-roasted chicken with rosemary & thyme, though since it's lunch you may want something easier. I often do boneless skinless thighs in my grill pan with different seasonings. You could make a spinach salad with a nice vinaigrette, & maybe some asparagus too?

Mmm...that sounds really good. She loves to cook, and we are both unemployed now (she's finishing up school, and I just got my Master's Degree), so lunch is going to be a big affair. Time isn't an issue. Getting a new job to pay for my wardrobe is! :)

Also, she's the one who suggested I come "Atkins her home!" I know she's got oodles of carb-filled boxes, so we'll see. :)

I think doing salad AND a veg would be good...you know how most carb-eaters are accustomed to meals composed of 3 things? Protein, veg, starch? Replacing the starch with a salad will make it feel less like something is missing. That's how it is for me, anyway.
