mrsmole's Journal, 14 April 2014

Weight loss has been good and consistent. I'm incredibly proud of myself that in spite of having emotional ups and downs over not being able to keep a stray dog I found and rescued (and fell madly in love with!) because of logistical reasons, I didn't eat more than I was supposed to all weekend. I even got to the gym one extra time over my goal.

I'm not going to lie: It's about 100 times harder to really feel the feelings unaided by food and sugar and alcohol it totally sucks. But you know what? I feel really proud of myself for having gotten through it and I know I'm a better, stronger person for it.

Yes, it is VERY hard to feel those feelings. You have every right to be very proud of yourself.

You HAVE done well!! Thank you for the reminder to be proud when we survive stressful times without food/sugar/alcohol. Sometimes there's just a sense of relief of making it thru - but we don't take it to the next step of being proud of being strong. You've made a great point about getting thru the hard stuff and giving yourself kudos for doing so!

Kind of funny when we think about it. This isn't just a trip for weight loss, but also to handle the psychological issues that come at us from all directions and not having the "tranquiliziers/food" to help us over the hump.
