I am! I'm supposed to be bulking. I'm trying to be careful, but this is ridiculous. If this is accurate (I doubt it is) I will have put on a grand total of 2 pounds by the end of the month. Maybe it's just a fluke. Maybe it's the carb back loading. Maybe it's the 'bulletproof coffee'. (Yum! I'll go make one now.) I've read some obscene things about carb back loading. Here's a snippet. *** Having dealt with a moderately low carb diet for over a year, Bruce walked down the road as the wind whipped through his coat and contemplated this weird high fat diet. The loaf of sourdough rye bread in the window of the bakery called his name. He looked at the threshold of the doorway and....

I think youre burning fat faster than youre building muscle. but only time will tell. Stick to your trial period and adjust at the end if needed. You know the drill. :) Speaking from what my brother in law told me about his carb backloading experience, he made all of his noob gains on it, and leaned out at the same time, and he was high calorie too.

That's the plan Chadlius. I'm kind of excited about it. As you say, only time will tell. Sticking with it in any case for a while. It kind of goes against all (current) logic.

Ugh. Our bodies never do what we want, when we want them to. Just like little kids...

And Windows 8, Rob. Don't forget Windows 8. Grrr!!!!

I hear 8 is suicide. Need to get in gear myself with a new system.

I'm trying to lose weight and I'm gaining. You're trying to gain weight and you're losing. Can we switch?? :)

I want to switch as well... If only I could lose that fast! ok, let me rephrase: If only I could lose! Keep going NM, it must be just a matter of days for your body to adjust and understan that you don't mean to lose anymore.

Bulletproof coffee??? Back loading carbs??? Is there a post on either of these tidbits of information? Needing the education.

NM - ATF = All things food

Won't work NM. They don't allow links anymore. I think you'll have to type it or send it PM if you would.

Thanks Lynn. Christy. If such a thing were possible there would be no obesity and starvation. If only. Bulletproof coffee. 1 cup hot coffee, 1 tbsp MCT oil or coconut oil, 1 tbsp unsalted butter, splenda to taste. Blend it. It's not too bad and give you an energy boost like you wouldn't believe. Downside? 200 calories.

CR the very basics of back loading is that later in the day the body tends to be insulin resistant so it stores less carb as fat. 'Loading' because it is designed to fill the muscles with glycogen and aminos after a workout. Also. Windows 8. I was away from home last summer when my laptop crashed. I was stuck. I needed one. It took about four days to get windows 8 to function in any way like a computer. It's essentially laid out like a touch screen tablet with big icons for each thing. Ctrl f4, something used for years to close a window now deletes the link to a program. Mrs. Mole is a professional techy. She likes it. It's making her a lot of money. :D (No. She didn't exactly put it that way.

don't get me started on windows 8, i wish they would see the error of their ways and release "windows nine and three quarters".

I tried bullet proof coffee - then asked myself "why?"". I'd rather have my coconut oil sauteing up some chicken!

PS - I daily told my boss how much I hated Windows 8, but he bought me one anyway. Go figure!

Wow. The Windows 8 rant thread. I was asked to rate the software at one point. I told Microevensofter that viruses were less of a problem. I further said anyone who has a windows 8 machine should be given a free upgrade to their next operating system. I'd be willing to take a 'downgrade' to W7

Re: Carb back loading. I should mention that it is most effective for those who tend to burn out their muscles. It won't be quite as effective for those involved in duration cardio. I believe the insulin response though may help some if carbs are a moderate part of your diet. Just my take.

oh the joy of windows 8. I really miss the old one. My hubby like 8... but he's nuts....
