Great, the new svelte "Deb's Pride", keep up the good work. Suggest you pan the nuts and olive oils, check their calorie numbers, concentrated calories that are so easy to avoid. Just a teaspoon of olive oil is 40 calories, a tablespoon is 119 (think of it as a candy bar in liquid form). I'm reading John McDougall's "Starch Secret" and encourage others to take his "Starch Challenge". We're going through his "Twelve Day Diet" from and earlier book and will switch to the "Seven Day Sure-Start" menu after finishing the first diet. It's pretty much the same menu plan but with noticeable changes that he's picked up through the years. By the end of summer I expect to be (gasp) under 150#'s. It will be a 'piece of cake' to maintain that weight as long as I maintain a plant based diet. Cheers!

Thank you for the info! I will have to google the books you mentioned. I do limit the nuts I eat. I confess I don't use that much olive oil. My foods are really really low fat, but since olive oil is a healthy fat, I suppose it might be in the food that I eat if I go to a restaurant. Good luck to you and yours!

I saw your 180.8 weigh-in and I'm thrilled. Just think, skipping one evening meal might mean the scale says 179.8 tomorrow morning. I can hear the shrieks of joy from here. Keep up the good work, as you are an inspiration to us all.

Never2old, did you see my food diary? I eat too much to lose one pound in one day. The snack list is very long. lol

Awesome, congrats! I'm right there with ya! I hear that Chia is an excellent source for all of the things you've just mentioned. Chia seed has more antioxidants that blueberries, more omega3 than Salmon, and more fiber than oatmeal. It is unique tasting, but not horrible. You can sprinkle it on your feed (like sesame seeds) So if you're interested in fiber and such- check it out! :)

food* Whoops. Yes, your feed, haha. I can see it now. Sprinkling your plate with corn. Haha.

So many new things I have to try: agave nectar, chia seeds, kale. I will eventually try stuff. If the grocery money stretches that far. :)

Never2old, I think you must be psychic. I saw your prediction of my next weigh in of 179.8 and you were right. It was 179.6 lbs. Yay!
