What do those of you who use supplemental fiber regularly or occasionally do with the calories on your tracking?

Another late night/early morning weigh in. Probably woukd be a bit less in the morning but -eh. Been doing pretty good health wise so of course it was time for a minor bug -.- 24hr stomach thing with a low fever. The oldest kiddo spent hisv24hr vomiting. The youngest with diarrhea. Which of course means I got option #3. Which brings me to my question.

How do you handle fiber calories? I don't care so much about the normal fiber in foods we eat, but the supplemental fiber powders? I spent a bit yesterday looking into it and the info is pretty all over the place. Some say don't count it, some say count it all, some say count a third (because some info says that the bacteria in our digestive tract grab about a third of it).

I counted it all, even though excluding even 2/3rds of it would have put me within my 1100-1300 calorie range aim =p

Going to try and jump into the week with an hour bike ride and adding some yoga in thanks to a challenge on here. Been meaning to start yoga again, it gave me the extra push.

Hey Calyn! Regarding the calories in supplemental fiber, I thought there was a negligible amount of calories in them but I'm a complete ignorant in that matter. I never even took fiber supplements... :P As for the unexpected virus attack - Get well soon! All of you!

Thanks Euheide. Luckily this was just one of those bugs where you almost don't realize you were sick til after it's over. It was more looking back at the fact that we all 3 hadn't felt well for a day with varying forms of stomach ills that made my husband and I go, "You know, I bet..." lol. The boys are back running around like it never happened and I think I'm past the ill effects also, thankfully =)

Over a days time the actual fiber supplement calories added to 44 yesterday and 66 today. Like you said, not enough to really worry about so I think I'll just count them if needed again in the future =p

That's great news with your speedy recovery! :) Thanks for the info on the fibers. 44 to 66 still impressed me somewhat but that must be a lot of fibers heheh. ;)
