Deb_N's Journal, 22 March 2014

My scale is slow to move. Always. It really makes me crazy. Recently it has been showing 180 and I get happy that I lost a little, then it goes up to 182 and I feel shocked, then it settles back down to 181. This is the way it has been going for almost each pound that I have lost. I have started calling this scale, The Scales From Hell. lol
181.0 lb Lost so far: 21.0 lb.    Still to go: 45.0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

Diet Calendar Entry for 22 March 2014:
2223 kcal Activities & Exercise: Desk Work - 4 hours, Standing - 30 minutes, Walking (slow) - 2/mph - 5 minutes, Resting - 11 hours and 25 minutes, Sleeping - 8 hours. more...
steady weight

Don't be discouraged. That is just how weight loss works. Just look at how far you've come so far. You are doing amazing! So keep up the great work. :D

My scales do that! Very annoying! Either it's a normal thing or we both have scales from hell that enjoy winding us up!!!

My scales do the same thing. After a while I check to see if my protein, fats and carbs are in balance. If they are I may add more protein and less or no grains, breads or pasta for a week or so just to change it up. My diet usually consists of lots of veggies, some fruit 30 to 40 % protein. Potatoes, which I love will undo my efforts every time. However, taking less than my RDI on a daily basis and getting exercise does eventually move the scale lower. Take heart. Your are doing so well. J

Deb, I did it. I took your advice and just had a little protein for dinner last week. Cut the kcal way back to almost 1,000 and it shows. I'm down 5-1/2 from last Saturday. Thanks for being my buddy and supporting me.

But great progress overall! Don't fool yourself because you are doing great! :) This is long term!

As long as it's not moving up you're doing well, not great but the weight wasn't put on in a weekend ... in weaker moments maybe, or in celebration.

Never2old, you are the first person to ask me to be your buddy, so I will always support you! When you said you had to lose 6 lbs by the 31st of March, I was really worried about you! Glad you are successful. Keep going, but do be careful to eat enough calories. Don't want you or anyone else to lose muscle!

Everyone, I thank you for supporting me. I do learn so much from all of you. I have increased the fiber and limited the starchy vegetables. I have a salt problem, although I do have many days that my sodium is less than 1500 mg, so I am encouraged about my progress. Fluid retention is also part of it. Dolores was right about that. :)

Not to "barge in" on the conversation but, Dreamcatcher, I couldn't help noticing your entry. I recently either heard or read from someone that no salt can be bad for your health as unbelievable as it may sound :). The ideal is probably a little dose of it. I'm not sure of it though ;)

I'll investigate I was told and read it was potassium !!
24 Mar 14 by member: dreamcatcher10
There is a salt substitute called "NO SALT". It's main ingredient is potassium chloride. J

I should probably also take another look into that :). Oh, I didn't know that JovialJ :) Thanks for the info! I thought "NO SALT" was literally no salt lol...
