So here's the deal. I am 28 weeks pregnant and loving it and so very very excited! I have stayed off of FatSecret, because I have been trying to get myself to not worry so much about food for varying reasons, plus the whole you're not suppose to cut things when you're pregnant, blah blah blah. Well... I will at least be on here for the next three days. Two weeks ago I failed the One Hour Glucose Tolerance Test. So now I have to do a specific no substitutions diet for three days, and then this Wednesday I will take the Three Hour GTT. At 8 AM I will go in and have blood drawn, then drink the glucose solution, then on the hour for three hours have blood drawn again. There is a high probability that I may be diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes.

The one hour test was not fasting and was suppose to have results below 130. My results were 155, which was really high, especially since I did not have much of a breakfast at all.

Yesterday, we went to Publix and bought the Freestyle Lite Monitor that is on sale for $9.99 (normally about $70-75). It also has a rebate and will end up being free. I think in the end whether or not I become fully diagnosed with GD or not, I should start checking my blood every often.

For anyone who followed me before, you may remember.. my problem is not in the over eating or indulging, but that I just do not eat enough and my body gets confused by it and stores the fat, etc etc. I was hoping that I was doing better during pregnancy. But then at the same time it may not be able how I am doing, but about how my hormones are reacting to the pregnancy. It may just be too much for my pancreas to handle. Either way, we will figure this out!

Good luck with this. I was undiagnosised gestational diabetes with my first (he weighed 9 lbs 13 oz). The fact that I only gained 16 lbs through them off. The second time, I controlled it by eating very close to south beach--no simple sugars except 2 fruits per day, no carbs without protein--and my daughter only weighed 8 lbs 1 oz. Georgia
