Asarver's Journal, 11 March 2014

I guess the weight gain is to be expected since I went on vacation last week. The vacation was awesome though! I went to Brazil with my fiance to meet his family. I got to practice my portuguese, and it was all just really nice.

I have to say I'm frustrated with how much I weigh. I weigh almost as much as I did before I started this weight loss journey. I feel like I've just ruined all of the progress I have made in the last 2 years. Last spring break I weighed 135, and at the end of last summer I weighed 132. What is wrong with me?! How did I gain all of this weight back?

I look at my pictures from the summer, and I look good. I look at me now, and I feel pudgy... and I feel ugly... I honestly don't know how I let myself get back to this weight. How am I supposed to get back to where I was?

I know exactly how you feel, I got down to within 5lbs of my goal weight last summer and then gained it all back over the winter. But I keep thinking if I did it last year, I can do it again this year. Get up, get back on track and keep looking at those summer pictures for motivation! You can do it.

Hi Asarver - i am in the same postion right now myself - I lost 10 - 15 kg and put it all back on again and wonder how i got here?? why did i do this all over again - you have to just start again - we cannot worry about why or how we just need to get back on the bandwagon and lose it again and perhaps think about NOT putting it back on again! losing more is a good thing!

Stay on track. You can do it . . . . you know where you are now. I would be concerned if you did not realize your gain. Today is a new day.

I have a food addiction, so I need to plan what I'm eating every meal. And if there are any wild card events I need to tell myself what is acceptable. You can do this! Keep track of your weight! I let mine go a couple times now and I cant afford to anymore. You can do this!

First don't beat yourself down. You have to start the process again as if you never really did it.#1 I want you to find something that you could put on you that made you felt great. Hang it where you will see it everyday. #2 try it on. See where or howfar you can get it on your body. #3 start by eating to fuel your body not to eat because you want to.If you feel like eating and already had your fuel for that meal.Drink water, add citrus to it to change the taste. Even if you don't want to exercise 30 min. Put sticky notes on fridge, cupboard etc to say is this to fuel my body or to indulge my hunger. It work. When I first started dieting in 1991 I weighed 184.5 and I'm 5 feet.I decided that I was going to get into a more positive attitude towards myself. It took me 1.5 years to get to 120 pds. I was young then I'm going on 50 but everyday I weight myself so I don't get of my rocker. I feel like a million dollars when I weigh 127 pds. Now I 123.4 because I wanted to loose a little more cause Cuba next week but I will be walking around the ground of the resort. I'll be thinking about you and I will watch you if you want me to help you.keeping it of is a lifetime commitment. And you CAN DO IT FOR YOU.

Thank you guys for the support, it means a lot! And thank you so much stmary. Your tips are very very useful!! I think putting sticky notes places will definitely help. I do exercise 5 or 6 days out of the week unless I feel like poop. But the biggest thing (and thank you so much for reminding me!) is reminding myself that food is for fuel. I always eat because I love eating, and I love food. Thank you guys so much!

I found a lot of motivational sayings on Pinterest if you are ever on there! One of my favorites is Fat lasts longer than Flavor.....I keep telling myself that when I gave issues. I'm trying to convert my husband as he is a sugar, soda, flour loving man...

Just start over. You know you can do it! I've gained about 12 lbs in the last year, and I am determined to get it off. I am starting over right now too...

Kris AZ, my husband is a carb, sandwich everyday kind of guy. I'm trying to get him on board, but it is not working.

MarieRemie, mine either...so much soda in him....he is so grouchy when he doesnt have any...its addicting....plus there was some news that the caramel color is cancerous but he still drinks.

I actually drink a lot of soda myself (it's diet, but I suppose that doesn't make it any better). I know of all the health risks and everything that everyone talks about, but I just LOVE carbonation. I've tried flavored sparkling water, but it just tastes like salt.

I'm with you too. I have gained back most of my weight just in the last few months and it's so much easier to gain it than it is to lose. I've been making myself drink more water and after a couple of weeks I'm drinking even more and I notice at night I crave the water and not soda. I started by flavoring it and now the flavors are too sweet. We all just have to stick with it and we'll get there. I think as it gets closer to summer our attitudes will get better and we'll be out and about more and those pounds might come off easier. :)

I'm with you on that one! I always lose more weight during the summer (for me I think the stress of work is a lot less than the stress of school!) haha. Thank you for the encouragement. (:
