I'm so glad for you for the all time low. I'm interested in the challenge but I'm lost. I can't find it. This site plays with my brain a little bit. ;)

BuffyBear, Can you please give an invitation to OhioGirl63? She's interested in the Challenge!

Sorry - It is only allowing me to send direct invites to my buddies. And I cannot find it on the "Challenged you can join now" section. Think my tech problems have gotten worse!

Thanks to all for the kind words. There are days when this diets sucks. Today at the store I saw Butterfinger Peanut Butter Cups. Really? I mean, REALLY??? Why do you people do this to me? I resist 99.99% of the time. So I bought one...and I gave it to my husband and made him eat them and describe it to me in excruciating detail. It's been something like 138 days that I've abstained from refined sugar and I am NOT going off the wagon that easily, but boy, talk about a close call. Feel like a heroine addict, shaking for a fix! LOL. But I got through it!

You are too funny! I hope he did it justice.

Too funny. The grocery isles are choc full of chocolate at the moment.

That's just too precious for words. My willpower once was good as yours but not quite good as yours,

Congrats! Glad our "Easter Challenge" is helping motivate you. Still can't believe you are so ambitious (most of us are doing 12 lbs. in 12 weeks, or at least we HOPE so!)

Debi, it's not even willpower anymore as much as sheer "You're not going to get me" attitude. The chocolate isn't going anywhere. It'll be there...forever. And one day, I may have some, but probably when I really don't care, and most certainly NOT as a treat or a reward. I am training myself to reward myself with things other than food such as pedicures, a nice phone call with a friend, a nap with my puppy, a hot Jacuzzi, or curling up with a good (audio) book. These are the things give me longer lasting and calorie-free joy! What gives joy to everyone else, besides good?

Sounds great; hope it rubs off on me! Rewarding yourself with stuff other than food is a great idea! Im going to get some new clothes eventually! I need them!

Mrsmole, you said " Feel like a heroine addict, shaking for a fix! "...some studies have shown that addiction to sugar is strong than addiction to drugs. You deserve a huge pat on the back for resisting the temptation. No taste of food is worth the freedom I'm going to feel to get a load of this weight off.

Puffy, funny you should say that about addiction. I'm actually on 138 days of being abstinent from refined sugar for that very reason - I figured if I took sugar out of the equation, I'd feel better, and I sure do. I sleep better, too. Thanks for your input, and good observation!

it's really really hard to change habits and to make new ones. i'm moving beer and wine out. definately feel better without those. i regret it when i drink them for a few days because they decrease my overall energy so much. now if i could stop the Olympics i would get more done. LOL at least that only happens for a couple of weeks every 2 years
