Saturday morning here and I'm hoping my friend Cathy has a sunny day today! I think she needs it to thaw out from her trip to Wisconsin. Cold here. Snow cover trees. Actually quite beautiful. Supposed to stay this way for the weekend. Maybe some single digit temps. I know I may sound crazy but I much prefer the snow to no snow this time of year. It was so UGLY before this last snow fall. Everything was brown. I'm used to white or green. The only time it is supposed to be brown around here is right before Spring and it is much too early for Spring here yet.

I did well yesterday. Wasn't even a struggle. I have no idea why but I am grateful for it. I had low calories and I wasn't hungry. Even had a "new" low on the scale this morning. I was hoping to be out of the "30's" by the end of this week and I was darn close but not quite there. My mom says it looks like I've lost weight. LOL. Mothers are wonderfully kind. At least mine is wonderfully kind. I'm not seeing it or feeling it yet but feel encouraged about yesterday. I've just been in such a funk ... really struggling, not just with eating but with everything.

The propane truck came the other day to fill up the tank. Propane went from $1.85 a gallon to $3.85 a gallon. Ouch. I haven't finished paying the last bill and now we have another bill that is over $500 to pay. YIKES. Wouldn't be so stressful except we are on the hook for daughter's rent. She worked 2 days last week. DH told me she got her schedule for next week and she is working 3 days, 3 hours each day?!?! Oh dear. I fear we will be paying the rent in March too.

Had a little scare with Blue last night. Ended up running to the vet after I got home. Thankfully the Skype meeting I was supposed to be attending was cancelled at the last minute so I was able to run back to town to the Vet. Apparently he has a hernia in his anus. I guess not unusual for a dog his age (he will be 9 in May) but scared the bejeebers out of me. I won't describe what I saw because it was rather gross. Gratefully, the vet didn't charge me for an "after hours visit" and the whole thing only cost me $58.51. And Blue is okay. I'm really not ready yet to part with this dog. I'm hoping he stays for a few more years. We've only had one of our Dobermans make it to double digits and she passed shortly after her 10th birthday. We lost my beautiful boy Khan at 7 due to a flipped stomach. Everytime I have to go to the vet I worry this is it. I guess that's my PTSD ... losing my furry friends.

So today I have a distributor meeting to attend this afternoon and will be ferrying momma to her friend's house for a week or so. Superbowl Sunday, my first EVER superbowl party in my life. LOL. Not bad for a 55 year old overweight woman who doesn't understand football anyway, eh? I have plans to make a white pizza, bought my ingredients yesterday and looking forward to seeing the Seahawks win ... I hope (sorry Bronco fans but I do live in the great Northwest so I'm obligated!!!).

Well I supposed I ought to break out a yoga DVD and get on with my day. Right now I'm boiling eggs and drinking coffee so technically I do think my day is underway. Oh, okay, maybe I'll drink just one more cup of coffee and visit your journals!!

Grateful I am today for ...

Not giving up on myself.
Hot coffee on a snowy day.
Family and friends.
My dear Blue is okay!!
Decent sleep.

Congrats on the loss, Moose!!!!! Sun is shining here and the snow is melting slowly. Our temps are getting warmer. Still below freezing at night though. Have a great weekend.

Yay for Blue! My blue is only 30 - my only concern with him is that I live longer than he does because parrots live a long, long, long time!
