wow OK; so I actually lost 2 pounds this week! I hate the counting and measuring, and I'm wondering how much carbs, cheese, and fat I can get away with! other than that, I'm enjoying my rekindled love for raw veggies, and lettuce of course! oh and I bought a vitamix today! they had the new one at costco!
179.5 lb Lost so far: 58.5 lb.    Still to go: 19.5 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

Just a suggestion...In an attempt to end your frustration with counting and measuring, why not come up with a list of foods you like. Figure out their net carb count, fiber - carbs, make out a menu and stick with it. The thing I like so much about low carbing is that once your plan is in place there is very little thought about what to eat. You are doing great, but I think it could be easier for you. Thanks everyone! Thanks for the suggestion Hoffner; I guess the problem is I don't have a set menu yet. I guess i eat similar things most of the time . ... but hoping to find some amazing vegan recipes and veggie ingredients that I love. So far: not kale! What kind of carbs do you eat? My main deficit that I feel is in the carbs area!

Tulipgirl, although I have lost 44 lbs since last March, I am still very much watching my carbs. My big carbs with vegts. are squash with onions, okra, tomatoes and a lot of green salads. No root vegts. at all. I have learned to eat hamburgers and hotdogs with no buns but all the fixings. I love Mexican dishes without refried beans or wraps. I do get the wrap and chips on the side so I am in control. I have pizza with out eating the crust. A wonderful pizza can be made on a portabella mushroon with all the low carb toppings! When I began I listed all the foods I felt I couldnt live without. Beer was one so I found 1 lowest in carbs and counted that into my daily count. I switch my foods around and find myself content. This works for me...educate yourself about low carb eating and come up with what works for you. I am willing to help you be successful anyway I can!

Thanks for the ideas and suggestions! My main problem is with carbs! The main thing I can't live without is bread, and I think eating bread just triggers wanting more of it! I am gluten free now, I found out I have an insensitivity to gluten and my main craving is for sandwiches! I am transitioning to eating much healthier foods . . . .i eat a ton of veggies, and I keep trying new things . . . btw - What's wrong with root veggies? I just have to get past my daughter's birthday this week and I can concentrate a bit more on my foods!

That's amazing Hoffner on the 44 pounds! I wish someone else would cook for me and I wish there were something you could eat to lose weight!
