So pleased with losing another pound this morning! Yess!

As I'm always on a mission to improve my attitude daily, I'm getting better at this whole 'be kind to your scale' thing.

(1) I am not going to obssess everytime the scale refuses to produce the results I am seeking
(2) I realize that at the end of January I had a rapid WL spurt -losing four pounds in four days. Then...TOM over the weekend. I knew it would take a few days to lose the water weight brought on by Aunt Flo, and then things would begin to move again. Plus, with having lost 4 pounds in such a brief time, I also realized that my body would need to go thru an adjustment period before I would lose more pounds.
(3) I keep in mind that while I am not losing pounds I am still a fat-burnin' machine and I am losing inches...and the scale doesn't indicate that.
(4) I refuse to allow the scale's report ruin my attitude, extinguish my joy, or damper my day!

The scale is my friend - no matter what it says. It is telling me either I'm on a roll and accomplishing great things; or it is warning me that changes may need to be forthcoming, should I get a negative reading over a longer period of time. This puts me into problem-solving mode, not complaining mode - and I seek to learn why the WL is not happening faster and I learn to make whatever adjustments necessaary. This find-a-way-make-a-way attitude has served me well.

My scale also enables me to learn what I am sometimes lacking in my personal character -- and that is PATIENCE. I for one, LOVE my little, electronic box! :)

Good for you Evelyn. I am glad to know you because you do have a positive attitude and those can be just as infectious and a negative one. I am working to catch your 'flu' :)

This is a great post. My post in today's "Daily Happenings" regards many of these points!! I especially like your point #3! You are a fat-burnin' machine! I need to heed #4!!!! Great attitude towards the scale. I love it!

I love mine too. Made peace with it finally after all these years, now that I finally understand it's the long term trend, not the day to day, that matters. I look at it as celebrating actions, not results. Yes, results are nice. But what you really should applaud yourself for are the actions you take. So regardless of what the scale says, any day where you eat right and move your body is a good day. The scale will catch up eventually. The less you stress about it, the better it cooperates! :)

Good morning Evie! Love coming to your journal. Congrats on the pound lost. I sent mine to outer space to fatten up the aliens. Lol. I really need to make peace with my scale, it's just a tool. Patience is what I'm working on too. Have a great weekend 'sis'! Love and Hugs{{{}}}

Elizabeth, your comment touched me. I so want to spread some love and light in my little corner of the world. My motto is NO Stinkin' Thinkin' - I don't always get it right 100% of the time, but that is my goal - to work on it.
