Oh Boy... This morning is starting out a little slow... Well, really I am feeling a little slow. More than usual anyway. I worked my tail off yesterday!! Literally. I lost another pound!!! Wooohooo! Go me! Go me!

hahaha. Sorry, just a little self satisfaction. Uhh. Hum. Anyway.

I discovered Splenda for baking yesterday!! Did you know that Splenda even has a brown sugar blend? My husband is starting to join me on this lovely journey, and he was craving something baked. You see, I love to bake. I love to eat it to, but I love to bake even more. It's a venting thing for me. So he has become accustomed to having yummy things in the house a couple of times a week... I found a chocolate chip cookie recipe online that called for Splenda sugar to replace regular sugar and I decided to try and replace the brown sugar with splenda also.

The thing you have to remember about ingredients is that they are not just there for their taste. Some things also add bulk, texture, etc. The first batch I followed the recipe and just plain ol substituted. Ooops.... The were flat like pancakes. But, they were delicious!!! Then I thought well, add more flour. The recipe only called for 1/2 cup because the regular brown sugar was supposed to be the bulk. But the Splenda brown sugar requires far less than the regular brown sugar, so it took the bulk away. So I added more flour. I'm not sure what I was thinking, but I also added just a 1/2 tsp of baking powder to see what that would do... Well, this time they were to dry and not so much cookie like, more biscuit cookie or something. Soooooo... Next time I will leave out the baking powder and just do the extra flour. I am having trouble calculating what the nutritional content is though. The regular recipe nutritional contents were just including the regular splenda, but I replaced the brown sugar with splenda brown sugar. It was 90 calories regular, so I was estimating that it may have been about 50 or 60 calories with both splenda substitutes. Now if only there was a butter substitute! hahaha

Body Bugg:

Ok, so yesterday was day 2 wearing the BodyBugg. Boy oh boy have I learned a lot about myself. Like I toss and turn a lot while I am sleeping! It counted my tossing as steps. Haha. I thought to myself "Do I sleepwalk because I don't remember taking 22 steps at 3 am!"
The armband does rub a number on my underarm, which is more delicate than a baby's butt... I found a solution though. It only happens when I am working out, so I just put a really soft fuzzy sock between it and my arm during that time. The sensors are still contacting my skin, but the band is not rubbing every time I move! I should patent that! The fuzzy sock-band. Great, right? Cheesy? Maybe. Needed: Definitely!
I'm a little confused. It said the battery life would blink amber when it needs to be charged, but you can also check the battery life every time you upload data. Well, every time I upload the amber light comes on while it is plugged in but the battery symbol says it's full. Oh well. Yesterday I burned just over 3800 calories!! I was in motion almost all day to get it done, but I found little ways to do it when my leg muscles got weak. That happens a lot after I exercise because of the mito disorder. Instead of feeling refreshed or energized or stronger, I usually feel weaker until my body rests. So, when my legs are weak I lift weights in my chair. It doesn't burn as fat as other things, but I am still in motion and the calories are still being used faster than doing nothing!!

That's what the program is all about. Ensuring that you have a deficit of calories. (Used more than you eat) And depending on what your goals are, the more you burn over what you eat, the more and faster you will lose weight. My two mile walk that I do with my husband every day is worth 400 calories!!!! The Wii free Stepper for 30 minutes is worth 200 calories (give or take depending on how intense I do them). Sweeping and mopping the floor was worth 75, doing the dishes was worth 40, and doing laundry was worth about 100 per load I do.

Anyway, that's all for now. My kiddos are begging for breakfast now! hahaha
