some things to think about. Are you tracking all your food honestly? All those bites, licks and taste add up. Studies show people who track lose 30% more weight than those who don't. Are you drinking water? Water flushes out sodium and keeps things moving. Are you getting enough lean protein, lean dairy, fruits and veggies? Protein and high fiber foods help us lose best. Are you eating too many processed foods? Processed foods contain tons of sodium and can inhibit weight loss in some people. Sometimes WHAT we eat can be as important as HOW MUCH. Are you being active? Exercise helps us burn calories, lose fat and keep our heart and body healthy. Are you eating the right amount of calories to help you lose? When I slack, the scale stays the same or I gain. When I do all the things I should be doing, the scale usually goes down (sometimes the scale goes up or stays the same no matter how good you are). So find a way to remotvate yourself and get to it. You can do it.

i know that this would help but I absolutely hate keeping a food journal. When I was on the truck with my husband it was hard when you have to eat out but maybe it is just rebellion on my part. Am I the only one that hates to journal your food?

The one thing to is I have graves disease and in Feb. had radiation to my thyroid so now I'm hypo and have been since May. I now take .125 of levothyroxine.

Losing weight is hard and being fat is hard, you just have to pick your "hard.". If you hate keep a journal, then maybe an Atkins type diet might help you. I have a friend with Graves too and she has to be really watch what she eats to she doesn't gain weight. It's very frustrating for her. But if you want to lose, then you need to make a choice. You can eat out and still lose weight. There are even apps now that you can plug in where you are and it gives you info about the best food choices. You have to make up your mind how much you want to lose weight and what you are willing to do to get there. Losing weight is hard work. I'd rather be lean strong and healthy. So I am tracking and doing what I have to do even though it sucks. But we all have to decide for ourselves. You can do this if you believe. Good luck!

Tonya - Your life sounds like it has been in a whirlwind at the moment and I hope things have now settled down for you I believe the comments made by Suzi161 are very strong but she has made some very good points. It is hard to keep these things up but as she says you have to make a decision for yourself make it a way of life then it will all feel like second nature. I have not been very good for a couple of months and my weight flutuates up and down by 3/4 lb this said I am not completely unhappy with how I feel or indeed how I look even though I have reset my goal weight I just think that maybe I am where my body wants me to be. I must just be naturally being healthy in my approach to food ect. So I think that this is where you will be yourself once you make that decision as Suzi161 says. I want to wish you every success and I hope your son has recovered and is now on the mend. Life throws curve balls to keep us on our toes :) Keep your mind positive and make your choices for you. I will be thinking of you Good luck Mo :)

I know she is right I'm not upset I just hate the journal and there is never no time set as to when to eat cause of our lifestyle. I have tried several times to start one but never complete it.

OK Honie a question. What WEB access do you have? If you have this on your Cell phone (mobile/Portable) then it maybe that you just need to enter your food as and when, weather you are at home in the truck or simply busy dashing around. Then when you hit the point in the day or night where you are sitting down then you can look at what you have eaten ect. enter it all into the fat-secret site, from this you should be able to address your own needs, it will not happen quickly for you as you are no doubt aware especially with the Graves but it will put you on the right road. I will be checking in with you So try to keep positive in your mind and with your choices. Mo :)
