Rob.c.weiss's Journal, 29 October 2013

I've been a bit stagnant these last couple of days... but, I'm not too surprised. Last week, for whatever reason, I lost 6.2 lbs, which is quite a bit higher than it should have been. I knew when that happened that this week would be a little weird. Anyway, no huge surprise that this week has less loss (almost by half) so far. But, the average of the two weeks is coming in around 4.9, which exactly matches my projections for both. So, I can't complain--trick of the scale; body doing weird things; I don't know.
257.2 lb Lost so far: 82.8 lb.    Still to go: 77.2 lb.    Diet followed 100%.

Though I should probably add that I bought some raw pecans by accident. I'm not big on raw nuts... When I bought them, I figured I would eat a few here and there, as I do cashews or sunflower seeds. I'm careful not to overdo it, but just about a half or full serving a day at most. Anyway, I bought these which turned out to be raw... I decided I could toast them myself. So, I found an online "recipe", which I followed. It called for butter, but hardly any (less than a tbsp for all of them), so I decided to go with it. For the amount I planned to eat daily, that was negligible. So, having done that, they turned out AMAZING, and I couldn't stop eating the stupid things. This was over the weekend... I've since given the remainder away. I think the toasted pecans may have helped *stagnate* the weight loss a bit. Hah! Oh well, reminder to self: no home-toasted pecans.

I can't be trusted with most any kind of nuts, they're too easy to eat way more than is reasonable!

I know! Ugh. Thanks, Bill and Kilna, glad to know I'm not alone in being nuts about nuts. Ok, corny... I know. Corn jokes to follow.

You can toast nuts in a dry pan on the stove top with no oil. Just use medium heat and keep them moving frequently so they don't burn. Just when they start to smell good and toasty, they're done.

Thanks, kkd! I knew there was a way to do it. I might have to do that instead if I ever accidentally pick up raw ones again.
