Have a great vacation! Sounds like a lot of fun. Try to be mindful of your eating but do indulge in a splurge!! 

Glen, you'd be surprised how inexpensive the upcoming trip was. I bought the tickets way out and Aer Lingus runs specials from LA once in awhile - I think we paid between 600 and 700 bucks. Not much more than to DC? Then I found a great apartment right on the water in the middle of the action in Galway since we like apartments better than hotel rooms - the price was 450 euros for a whole week(64 a night and you should see the view from the windows!) I like having a fridge stove and microwave so I don't have to run out of the room or use a mini bar every time I want something to eat or drink. It's amazing how cheaply you can do it if you shop around.  

Sounds amazing! Have fun! If you happen to swing by County Cork, say hi for me. :P :) (I doubt I'd know anyone there or vice versa, but my dad's maternal grandmother hails from that region. I've often wanted to see it myself, but travel is really hard for me to manage financially. I'm fortunate that I get to go from MD to DE to see the beach once a year.)
