Good morning!

Ah... it's Friday!

Not that I get much of a weekend, but it's nice to have a few days off from the day job. :)

I worked the gym last night, I will work it this afternoon and I will be there again for a full day on Saturday.

I hope to play music Sunday. :) Busy busy busy.

I'm up 200 grams today, though I did GREAT yesterday.

I did everything I'm supposed to - if anything I might not have eaten ENOUGH calories, coming out 600 calorie short. Mind you, I had an "extra" 400 calories allowance from being only 600 grams from goal weight, so you could argue that I came out 200 calories short. Meh. Not important.

My total intake was 1850 calories, I had all my protein and I had all my fat.

I did great on the cake, only having a little bit, perfectly calculated and with no carb monsters in sight. Nice.

...

Today is pretty much planned out. No breakfast, as always. At 11, I will have a protein bar, then go to lunch with wife around 12:30, have an afternoon snack while working at the gym, dinner (spareribs, potatoes, carrots) at 6, and that's probably it. If I'm short on protein, then I'll add a protein bar or shake.

It's pretty simple, and reasonably well laid out.

The only thing I don't have in the equation just yet is lunch. I don't knw where we're going or what they'll be serving, but I know that I have 1000 calories available so I am in no way concerned.

...

I have to admit I'm kinda hungry this morning. It's very rare that I feel hungry in the mornings now, it's been weeks! I really don't want to give in to it, so I will do my best with loading up on water and coffee and then have my protein bar at 11 as my first little meal. I also have a couple of "emergency apples" in my office, so I have something I can dig into if needed.

I think I can be a big boy and not give in to anything. It's not like I'm starving or anything, just feel a little hungry. I'm not gonna die from not eating the next three hours. I would MUCH rather meet my goals than give in to this. It'll pass before I know it.

Sometimes it pays off to be stubborn. :)

...

I went to work out at the gym early this morning. Having the keys to the gym has its perks. :) I basically go and get everything ready to open the gym, but an hour early. Then I do my workout routine, and I am done when bossman gets there, we'll have a chat while he unlocks the doors and gets the rest ready, and I'm an work about an hour early.

This means I can leave an hour early, and take my lunch break at the end of the day, so I'll be out of here around noon. Not bad for a Friday. :)

...

I didn't get to do my walk just yet. I'm not sure I will do a long, focused walk today either. My thighs are SORE from the 75 minute stationary bike ride the other day. I gotta remember to stretch! It was hurting bad all night, which of course also means that my sleep wasn't optimal either. I'm allright though. Not TOO tired.

Anyways, I will probably NOT go for a 5k walk today, but I will make absolutely sure to get my 10,000 steps in, one way or another. I'm already at almost 5,000, so it shouldn't be too big a deal to get the rest in throughout the day. If I am short, I'll get on the elliptical at the gym when I work there. 5,000 steps is less than you'd think.

...

So that's pretty much the day as it looks for me.

...

So, today I am up 200 grams. It's kinda surprising. I was calculating on being a little lower, maybe even under 80 kilos, but obviously that didn't happen. I can't really pinpoint why. I did all I'm supposed to do, I stayed within my RDI, I did my exercise, I had my water, and I had no particulatily salty foods, from what I can think of.

I guess it's just one of those things. I'll just consider that it might be my body priming me for a KILLER low weigh-in tomorrow! LOL. Who knows, right?

Saturday IS the day that I usually weigh the least. Let's hope this happens this week too. It'd be nice to get there, and it'd be nice to get the higher RDI for Saturday.

I think I will do a serious attempt at NOT having an Indulgence Day tomorrow. I will go with whatever RDI that my calorie counter gives me. 2100 if I am way too heavy (81 kilos and over), 2300-2500 if I'm between 80 and 81, and 2700 if I am less than 80. Let's see where it takes me.

I don't really think I will need an indulgence day regardless. I haven't really been craving anything in particular. Having the generally higher RDI keeps me very satisfied, and I can essentially eat what I want as long as I moderate.

Trust me, it's a LOT easier to do maintenance when you use your RDI to the max, put in some exercise to up it further and just go with the flow. Shoulders down. Take it easy. And as always, it's about averages. If you blow it, compensate. Nobody dies. :)

This is really the thing I am learning more and more. Do what you're supposed to, but relax. We're in no hurry. We'll get there. It's all good.

...

Today, I'm thankful for:
- Friday!
- Weekend, though a busy one.
- Coffee to kill my morning hunger today.
- Wife!

Happy weekend! Life is good!

Good morning, I was thinking of you this morning on my short walk from train station, in that I hadn't commented, I don't think, on your indulgence day - as in taking or not. I think you are smart to change up from that; rather than an 'indulgence day' have an indulgence item if you have the calories for it - say the candies you like - perhaps if you have enough calories you can have a few; or an ice cream, or popcorn if you go to the movies - know that you are no longer trying to lose. Makes sense - the more you exercise the more you get to eat, so use those extras as your for an indulgence item. You got this covered, as always. Sorry your weight is up today. Some days our bodies do strange things. Enjoy lunch with your wife, enjoy your week-end though it sounds as though you will be working, a lot, but hopefully Sunday will make up for it when you get to play music.
