today is my third spike day and boy am i excited. (:
i've been feeling a little guilty lately about how i've been eating, especially the amount of pork i've had. it's difficult, though, when i'm not the one in charge of the groceries coming into this house.
see, i moved in with my father in the summer and we spent months just eating junk and sitting around and watching tv. we made these elaborate plans to start going to the gym together (he's had a membership at one around here for almost two years that he pays for every month and has never gone to, once). we were going to track our progress online and take photos and just make this a big deal and something we couldn't back out of. he'd done it once before and i really trusted he knew everything we'd need to know.. but months kept passing. august, september, october.. november came around and the second day in was when i decided to put my foot down and just do this myself. so i did. i started coming on here and doing all sorts of research around the internet and whatnot (i'm rather internet savvy so i trusted myself to be able to pick out fact from fiction, especially when it came to the experiences of real human beings like you guys here on fatsecret (: ). anyway, he's been helping me start out with helping pay for my gym membership or taking me to the organic supermarket.. but these things aren't very consistent. and after saying we were doing this together he's still bringing home tons of junk for him and my younger brother, especially while grocery shopping. it's hard because i've just started working so i don't have any money (hence being here in the first place) and i want to eat healthily! i don't want to eat like him anymore but hell it's difficult when i need to eat and the only protein around here besides the shitty tasting soy isolate is pork! bah.
what a rant, haha.
anyway, still showing loss on the scale and i'm celebrating each one. and i've decided to ask for a set of weights i can use at home for christmas. i'm really excited for them. weight training is definitely going to be big in my future.

I'm pretty sure you live in the USA, right? In Canada we have places like "Value Village" and "Savers", where they pick up stuff from peoples houses/donation boxes and sell them for organizations like the Diabetes Association. (There is a point to this story, haha), anyway I got a step for cardio and weights there for cheap as dirt. I don't know if you can go the thrift store route, but it helped me out so much. :)
And yes, we sound extremely alike :p
