Day 63 (Week 9): 10 TO 30 POUNDS BY November OR BUST

Week 3 Cruise to Lose!

Smoothest of sailing to all of you wonderful, health-minded, lovely FS peoples!!!!!!!!!!

Tomorrow's Friday!!!! I am so excited! We are going to go see my Mom and then Saturday I get to fence ALL day!!! Talk about GREAT exercise without even thinking about it! This will be my first event after Pennsic. (this is not me but it shows kinda what I do) For those of you who do not know, one of the FINAL straws that helped me to flip the mental switch to finally get healthy was that I was unable to take the field this summer in rapier combat in the SCA (Society for Creative Anachronism) because my armor barely fit. Barely fit as in my arms stuck out at my sides like the little kid in a Christmas Story that was wearing too much winter clothing! The sleeves were so tight I lost mobility and would have been not only unskillful but likely unsafe on the battle field.

I have practiced once since I started losing weight and I was able to wear my armor then. So this week-end I am looking forward to doing some melee and some one on one work with my Don but most of all I am looking forward to being COMFORTABLE in my armor again!

I will probably eat too much at feast on Saturday and at Sunday Brunch that my Grandma wants to take us too, but the fencing should balance most of it out and I know I can flush a lot out on Monday with a fast if I need too hot tea and water are good good things :)

I was noticing this morning my skin kinda feels loose now. Like the fat is less solid and starting to melt away. I hope it is not all in my head ;)

Still having some some hunger pangs. I think it's the little bit of chocolate I have been allowing myself. I have no more pieces saved in my drawer so I am just going to hope the jar is empty (as in all the installers ate it) and even if it is not I am not going to grab anymore. Doing extra well on the water front but going to keep it up. I know I will hydrate on Sat. I always make sure I drink a lot when I am fencing :)

I took a break from the Wii Fit last night. I logged in, did my body test and called it done. Tonight I have yoga but I will do the body test so the silly little thing won't yell at me LOL I know it will be uspet with me over the week-end hehe

Old Man Scale: The battery situation seems to have settled a bit this morning but Dave is looking into getting me a new one anyway.

Measurement look good today. Provided I am doing them right. When my waist gets to 35"-36" or so I will pull those jeans on again and see :)

Happy, healthy vibes to you all!!

Dont you love the loose fat feeling! I know exactly what you are talking about. I also love the feeling of my arms swinging freely and not bumping into my hips. It's the little things right!

The only thing about loose fat in my arms, is that when I wave good bye to someone, my arms still swinging 10 minutes later. :-)

doing tricep exercises will strengthen the back of the arms...glad you can fit in your armor again...what a motivator...just like being able to fit into clothes that dont quite fit, but are close to fittin...have a great time this weekend!!!!

I don't have the flappy bits yet. This was sorta around my tummy that I was noticing. But I am trying to keep moisturized and I am going to grab some Visibly Fit lotion to help with that as well as toning my muscles to start pulling that skin back in. So hopefully I won't get TOO flappy :) In yoga my teacher had a lady from Australia who called the arm flappy's fidibiduhs....(hard to spell phoneticlaly since it is a "fun" word)

Yeah for fitting into your armor again! Good for you! What about trying veggie or fruit snacks when you get hunger pangs? I like raisins or any dried fruit if looking for something sweet. Have fun this weekend!

Oh, you HAVE to post pictures! I can't wait to hear how you do. One of my students takes fencing lessons (and archery). At first, when you said you were going to fence all day, I was picturing you digging post holes and hammering wood together to build a fence, and wondered why you seemed so darned excited about it!

My brother in law is very active in SCA -- or maybe a similar org, not sure if that's the right name -- and he always has a blast "going to war" camping out and drinking mead with his buddies. Sounds like a fun time!

Yep Pennic is "War" We all shorten it to "War" when we are tlaking amongst ourselves.

I like the imagery entailed by your mention of "the fat feeling less solid." Want to hear a "fat secret"? When I first started walking this summer, I chanted to myself over and over again. I said, "Heat the brick and melt the butter. Rid the fat and rid the clutter!" That stupid "mantra" helped me to envision myself warming up my muscles to "burn" fat. To me -- fat is simply fuel for muscles to use. The more we use our muscles -- the more fuel (fat) we USE UP! Does that analogy make sense?

What fun!! Im thinking how awesome it will be when the shapley maiden takes on the armor and does battle with the big brave knight and whips his butt!!! have fun, I have been to the renassiance fairs and they are so much fun. About the "feast".. they have some healthy food like the roasted chickens so try to focus on the healthier fare, ma lady! ;)

CF it TOTALLY does. and I would not call any mantra stupid at all! Check out my post on Looosinsfun's journal this morning about how powerful our minds truly are! LOL Well the SCA is a little different. Feast is a meal that is served to you not one where you choose what to buy. We may choose not to eat feast, though, because we are not particularly fond of this feastocrat (cook) so we may head out somewhere I can get a healthy salad. But even if not, I tend to burn a TON of calories when I am on the field and I have a feeling I am going to push hard tomorrow since I could not "play" last August. So I am not as worried as I might be coming across above :)
