Densible's Journal, 07 October 2008

Three days of 143 and today 144. Oh well, it is still a lb less than 145. I am quite surprised that I have lost any weight. I have not been to the gym in 3 weeks. I do my sit-up. push-ups and lunges every day but have not done cardio everyday-probably only 2-3 x per week for last 3 weeks.

Only in last few days have I gotten serious about caloric intake. It feels good to be in control of a little something :)

144.0 lb Lost so far: 20.0 lb.    Still to go: 14.0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

Okay! I was about to add-"well I can't go until next week because this week is too busy, crazy due to excuses A,B, etc..." isn't it ironic that when I am most stressed and could really benefit mentally from the gym is the time I have the most trouble going? Is that true for you?

YES! Like saying, I'm too tired to go to the gym, have way too much other stuff to fit in, but yet we know we'd have MORE energy if we just went! I WILL go in the morning tomorrow, then come home and do my hair for a lunch meeting I have. When are you going?

NOPE, better yet, I'm going NOW! See how ya inspired me?

Oh Wow! I am impressed. Using shame as my motivator (Catholic education does have its uses:)-I am going to walk across the street-yes the gym is literally across the street from my office (tsk, tsk) at 4PM PST and work out and then rush home to watch the debate. Someone has to be there to prevent the husband from damaging the telly!

OK, dang...do I ever feel good now! In one hours time I went to the gym (mine is only the next exit over, maybe a 3-4 minute drive) I did a full 20 minutes on the cross training machine thingie mcjob, kept my heart rate pretty high but I always have issues there...147/150. THEN I didnt feel like getting on a weight machine so I hoped on the stair climber and did 26 flights of stairs keeping my heart rate about 152/154! My heart is still coming round, but it will get better! I came home and though I'm still in my gym clothes I feel so good so now YOU need to go do the same thing! Go, go go!!!!

Howdee! I went and did 40 mins on the treadmill-intervals of running/walking on incline. Sweated like a P-I-G! Not sure what my heart rate was but it was definitely working hard. Then did about 30 mins on the weight machines-legs-I love the abductor for the inner thighs. I have one thigh that is bigger than the other-I mean can be seen by the naked eye BIGGER! Don't tell anyone....Arms-free weights and then the back thingy that you lean over at the waist and then pull yourself up. When I first started at the gym I was afraid to do it because I thought I'd fall off. Now I hardly think about falling off and breaking my nose and front teeth and having to explain to everyone, including my reluctant health insurance provider how such a "funny" thing happened! Finished off with more ab work because one can never get enough ab work-right? Janelle_please file your report. I am anxious to hear about the jumping jacks! When are we going again?

Thanks to you two (Densible and ImLuuvd) after reading this exchange I got up and walked an hour and 15 minutes on my treadmill. I don't even have to walk across the street or go one exit - just down to the basement! Thanks, guys, for the kick in the rear! I didn't walk fast, but I had the incline up to 4, 5 and 6.

I need to report that I did in fact go do 100 jumping jacks in my room, I did them in sets of 25 an rested just a little bit then did the next set. Still had a terrible week of bad food but you all inspired me to at least move on that particular night. I guess I just needed company, specially the kind that just "DO IT"!
