this is really getting annoying as I refuse all the sweets and don't go out to eat everyday and yet here the weight sits, just hanging out, very discouraging.

Many times we stay within the same few pounds because we are constantly going on and off plan. One day of extremely high caloric intake can mess up the week of weight loss for some. Are you tracking all your food honestly? Bites, licks and tastes add up and make your weight stay within the same few pounds. Are you drinking water? Water flushes out sodium and keeps things moving. Are you being active? When you don't have a lot to lose, exercise can be your best friend. If you don't start, and if you do, kick it up a notch. Restaurant food contains tons of sodium, so even if you stay within your caloric intake you can show a temporary gain on the scale from sodium. Consistency is key with weight loss. Go through your food journals and see where you may have overeaten or had too much sodium. Measuring cups and a food scale are also great tools to make sure we are eating the right portions. It's eye opening how much we overeat even just eyeballing proper portions.

Spot on Suzi161... Also try weighing in less. It is easy to get stuck on the scale. If you have to weigh, try once a week, and take your measurements as well. I remember when I started I would get upset that I hadn't lost enough or fast enough. I was only losing .5 a week - and then I looked at the big picture and you add all those small loses together and I am down almost 40 lbs! You can do too!
