madaboutmoose's Journal, 04 August 2010

Wednesday and another decline on the scale, from 186.2 to 185!! So now I am at the top of my range.

Not much time to chat this morning. It appears I have a bladder infection so I need to scoot over to the doctor's office and see if they will squeeze me in. Bad timing since today is video day and I really can't change my schedule. Timing is everything, right?

I have been hungry. I am trying to eat protein when I am hungry. Seems my body does better with extra protein. I go to bed hungry. I wake up hungry.

Quickly let me count the ways I am grateful today ...

1. for buddies who have confidence in me and encourage me

2. for buddies who risk sharing personal things with me

3. for being able to be flexible and realize when I am feeling 'stuck'

4. for cooler nights

5. for 2 consecutive days of declines on the scale!!

I actually have more I wanted to talk about this morning but no time. If I can remember later what I wanted to say (LOL!!) then I will. Otherwise perhaps I have saved you all a long read!! I continue to practice kindness to myself and it is paying off. Whatever your circumstances in life are today ... remember that today is just a day and that the only permanent thing in life is change. Be kind to yourselves, breathe in and out, continue on your journey remembering that the joy is in the journey ... not in the destination!!!

I go to bed hungry most nights too, but I guess I'm used to it by now... I never wake up hungry though, if I did I wouldn't be able to go to the gym every morning like I do.... So I don't really have any wisdome on that, other than maybe drink some water when you first wake up. Anyway, sorry abot your UTI - hope it clears up soon, and good luck on your filming!!!!

Bottom of your current range? Good job getting there anyway, no matter where you are. :-) Hope the doctor can fix the problem quickly. Have a great one moose and, as always, thank you for your amusing and encouraging posts.

LOL!!! NO. I am at the top of my range!! LOL!! The bottom is target to be 175!!! I hope to float between 175 and 185 as the 'uh-oh' number. That has always been my hope I just haven't made it happen yet. Got into the doc ... gave a sample ... they said I am 'borderline' but I have symptoms so they are calling in a prescription for me. Deb ... glad you are remembering to be kind to yourself ... I do believe it is key ... at least for me. Momo ... funny you should mention water ... that is exactly what I do EVERY morning!! I drink while I work out and then I eat breakfast. I don't really mind feeling hungry on occasion. I take it as a sign of health. So many years I was never hungry ... I just need to make sure I do not get "too" hungry or my brain seems to fry and I make horrid choices!! LOL!! The videographers have arrived. I'm sure it will go fine. I'll just be glad when it is over. Oh gosh ... I sure would like to see my 'counter' blue by the end of the week. I haven't been 'blue' for quite some time ... alrighty then ... clearly I am starting to become obsessed!! LOL!!

I think extra protein helps a lot when I'm feeling especially hungry. Good job figuring out what works best for you. I hope you feel better soon!

Hope you are healed soon! It is understandable that going to bed hungry means we wake up hungry. Hopefully you can listen to what your body needs/wants and will find your groove. :)

How does one get those? Are you drinking enough water? Would water help w/ the night/ morn hunger? I've read we confuse thirst for hunger... I am sure you are drinking water. OH, but us coffee drinkers need more water too. You prob know that too.

I haven't had one for over 6 years. Some say too much sex ... but I'm pretty sure that isn't the problem!! LOL!! I drink at least 60-80 ounces of water every day. Feels like I spend half my life in the bathroom!! LOL!!!

You must know about the ole cranberry juice fix?? Only had a very few bladder infections in my life but when I did the juice helped more than the (sulpha) drugs which I was allergic to. Cranberry juice mixed with orange juice over ice is nice! Also good as a preventative once you resolve the immediate issue. (Comes in supplements, too.) ....(Today, you can just call me "information").

Feel better soon! Good luck with the hunger too, I'm battling that today myself.

Hope you feel better! I have been at a plateau and I think it's because I am not usually hungry at all.

Hi Carol! I'm so glad you got to the doctors and are taking the antibiotics and I hope you will feel better soon. Great job shedding that weight so quickly. I try to eat protein when I am hungry too. I was talking to Anne and she uses protein powder. I have been thinking about trying it. Hope the rest of your day went well!

Just FYI : If you are doing cranberry it is important to use the unsweetened. The cocktails have sugar which actually feeds the bacteria....
