Rhcpcf's Journal, 30 December 2012

Stepping on the scale and finally reading 182.5 made me ecstatic! I started at 186 and I would lose two, gain two, lose three, gain three, etc.. Finally this week I had not a single day of UPs! Everyday on that scale it was lower than the previous. My eating habits are a complete 180 from when I started this challenge. I was small (135-140lbs) and a pants size three (yes three!!) in May of this year. I was 140-150lbs and a size three to five all summer. Then when I quit smoking I gained 30-40ish pounds. Almost instantly. If you saw me, you would guess about 160 because I have a ton of unwanted muscle (due to a manual labor job on a golf course I held all summer) Nothing about my lifestyle changed except the not smoking. And because of that, my metabolism drastically slowed, and my food intake trippled atleast. Not exaggerating. So, my soultion was to maintain my semi-active lifestyle, and change my diet dramatically. Well, three weeks later and I have only dropped 3.5 pounds. Dissapointing, yes, but I knew I wouldn't see immediate results. I am thrilled at the fact that I have my eating under control finally. That was most important to me. So, now I have a treadmill getting set-up today. I plan on running my ass off every single day until this 50 pounds is gone!!! So refreshed today. Gotta keep this head high. It took less than three months to gain this weight, I sure as heck won't let it take that long to lose it!
182.5 lb Lost so far: 6.5 lb.    Still to go: 47.5 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

Thank you! I feel wonderful! I smoked everyday (practically all day) for almost nine years. It's amazing being able to breath when I run. And I feel that way too, if I can quit smoking and stick to it, surely I can lose this unwanted weight. I am so glad we started this challenge when we did. While most people are getting together their plan on losing weight TODAY, I have been in the right mindset now for almost four weeks! It's so nice to be ahead of the game for once. Here's to us!
