So today is my Low Cal Day. I am trying it Keld!! Wish me luck. I am starting off with lots of water and a little activity to get my morning going. I am going to do a 6 min cardio thing. I think it will help my mind get set for the day.
My blood sugar was just slightly higher than I like this morning but not out of the range of normal. I will check my sugars at 10 12 2 4 and then right before I have dinner at 630. I brought a package of cheese and peanut butter crackers I case my blood sugar decides to get low. Even if I have those it would only be 170 calories and I will still be fairly low for the day. Dinner will be chicken stir fry with two oz of chicken water chestnuts mushrooms and frozen stir fry veggie mix. Last time I used soy sauce but I am really going to limit myself this time since there is soon much sodium. I have a teriyaki sauce I am going to use to cook it instead of soy sauce.
I will do regular check-in to see how my day is going. Will probably be the same time I check my blood sugars.

Sounds like a plan! I'll be keeping an eye on you. Enjoy the day - remember, if you get hungry and it's not your blood sugar messing with you, that hunger doesn't just keep increasing, it comes in waves. It WILL pass. :)

AHHHH So I got to the office this morning and the boss told me that management is having a lunch meeting to go over a bunch of stuff. Which means we will be sitting in a room surrounded with food for at least 3 hours this afternoon while the three of us brain storm. I planned today to be my day because it would be easy for my first day. Now I am not sure if I can do it. We are meeting at a super yummy restraunt and I know they do have a good selection of healthy foods... We will see I guess I could do a salad no dressing because that does pack a lot of filling power. OR maybe I should adjust my plan and do my low cal day tomorrow. So far today I am feeling GREAT It is 2 hours after I would normaly eat breakfast. I did a quick 6 minute cardio workout this morning to get me going and I think that REALLY helped. I brought my ipad wiht me to the office incase I wanted to do it again I can go into the empty office for a few minutes and work out! I talked to the boss and he said he had no problems if I wanted to take breaks to workout throughout the day!!! I LOVE WHERE I WORK! I have had about 30 oz of water so far I will check my blood sugars in about an hour and report back. I am still going to try to skip lunch though...

Its 10:20 and my blood sugar is still hanging out at 114 so I am still doing good as far as that is concerned. I have had 50oz of water so far and feeling good. feeling a bit hungry but I know it will pass!

Bummer that boss made today the day to make you sit at a nice restaurant. I hope you make it through the day "safe and sound". :) Also, I'm curious about the 6 minute cardio workout you do. Which one is it? How do you like it?

OK, so I was strong for the first 45 minutes we were there but my blood sugar was dropping and I caved. I had a spinach salad wiht salmon NO dressing Instead i just used fresh squeezed lemon on it. I skipped dessert but the chocolate lava cake with raspberries and strawberries in chocolate sauce looked amazing. The workout I do is on Youtube. You should check out her channel she has a lot of great workout videos and a lot of good information.

OK, so although I did not fast until dinner I did make healthy choices for lunch and I have my dinner planned out and I am going to stick to it so I will still be at less than 600 Calories for the day. My BS has been mostly good it did drop around 1230 to 69 so that is why I decided to go ahead and do lunch.

Wow, what a grueling day. I don't know if I could do all of that in one day - the checking of the sugars, the working out, the struggle with lunch. How awesome that you had a salad with no dressing - I don't think I've ever been able to do that in my life! I am glad you post on here about your blood sugar because it is so helpful to me to see that another diabetic struggles with the same issues I do.

YOu've been a champ! Well done. I am amazed you pulled through. Let's hope that not every Low Cal Day will be this difficult. Going to 600 instead of 500 is not bad considering all you were facing. I'm proud of you. I will look up the videos, see what it's all about. Sounds interesting. As you know, I stink at exercising, and I need something that can motivate me. 6 minutes is better than nothing, and who knows - maybe it'll get me going to another level. Right?
