kingkeld's Journal, 27 November 2012

Good morning!

I'm down 600 grams since yesterday. It's good, and it's much better than gaining 500 as I did a day ago. :)

I suppose it means I'm slowly catching up with the Thanksgiving feast, Wife's awesome chicken soup etc.

Today is gonna be one of those days with a lot of activities to do. First here, then work - where I will be doing three interviews and be TIRED after, and THEN go rock out with the kids at the school.

It's a fun day, but a tiring day.

I'm gonna bring my bicycle today, I think. The read to the school is all uphill, so it's quite a workout for me to get up there - even if it isn't all that far - but it's super nice when I am done to simply get on the bike and roll on home. There's hardly any work involved. :)

I'm excited about reaching "a new low". I think I'm gonna start calling it that again, to motivate. I know, technically it won't be a new low until I'm around 75 kgs, but that is pretty far away right now. So anything lower than I get after my "post-Thanksgiving reboot" will be deemed one. It'll help me keeping going.

Yesterday, I taught my weight loss class. Or should I rather say I hosted it? There is hardly any teaching left to do! They do it all by themselves, and they're rocking it!

They have now lost 78.7 kilos over 12 weeks. I am STOKED that they're doing so well. Essentially, they have altogether lost more than the weight of the lightest person in class. :) That's crazy!

I am so proud of these guys.

We discovered something yesterday, and this I really want to share with you guys.

My class is essentially (and with a few exceptions) a group of ladies aged 40-60, and virtually NONE of them do any exercise. I was telling them about the videos I use, the Extreme Makeover Weight Loss Edition workout videos. I really like them, as they are a great starting point, and they're really good even after a while, for regular (semi)daily exercise. They're no P90s, but then again, P90 and P90X isn't for everyone. It's not for people like me, who just want to get a little exercise in, burn a little calories.

This is not an intimidating workout, and it won't really scare anyone new to exercise away. I took one look at P90. That's as far as I'll ever get with it, no matter how much people recommend it. The trainer looks like a jerk, and he's very intimidating. I'm not gonna spend my exercise time having a guy giving me attitude, when I can chose a guy who is motivating and supporting instead.

Anyways, we were talking about where to find the DVDs, and it was hard to track anything useful down.

Until the most obvious thing dawned on me. YouTube!

And whaddaya know? They're there, all three workouts, full length! Nice!

So, I decided that you guys need links! Here they are! Again, a lot of you "hard core" buddies and FatSecreteers will think this is too easy. Many others will think this is just what they were looking for to get moving.

I am curious what you guys think of them. Please take a look and let me know. :)

I hope you enjoy these as much as I do.

Personally, I do level 2. I really want to get into level three, but it's just not feasable for me, as I live on the 3rd floor in an old building, and there is simply too much jumping around. Not good on old floors. lol.

Anyways, level two still gets my heart rate up, and right now I probably couldn't handle level three anyways. I'm still slowly inching my way back into a good exercise regime.

Today, I'm thankful for:

- A new "new" low.
- Morning coffee. "Winter warmer" flavored coffee. Yum.
- Going to rock with the kids tonight.
- A busy day at work make one focus less on foods.

Happy Tuesday! Life is good!

PS: I haven't been too active here during the whole political battle in the US lately, and haven't really commented much on it. However, I found this video while looking up the Workout videos. I thought I'd share it. :)

Hey KK! The videos didn't post but maybe I can find them on YouTube. Nice to see we are all back and working off the Thanksgiving feasting. I put on 3 1/2 lbs. Hard to believe! I am glad you are back on track, too! :)

The videos show up just fine unless you're online via phones or tablets. They're not flash compatible. :) Just go check on a PC.

Thanks for the encouraging comment on my weigh-in from yesterday Keld. Much appreciated. I'm determined to get my mojo back ... just taking much too long to find it and gained far too many pounds in the process!!
