"There is no good time to start a diet!" I started my diet yesterday against all the advice of my family. They are currently in Thanksgiving mode and the refrigerators are filled to the brim with sweets and fried food. My thinking is, instead of gaining 5-10 pounds over the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays, I will lose weight instead. I am starting college again in 8 days and I am honestly embarrassed to be around all these young kids in the best shape of their lives. Getting older for me is like frying bacon in the nude...You know it is going to hurt but don't know when or where ;). I'm tired of getting worn out so easily and my joints hurting from all this excess weight. Phase 1 is a nightmare because I love pastas, potatoes, and everything I cannot have on this Phase, but I know it will be worth it. My goal is to change my life from being "Live to Eat" to "Eat to Live." Yesterday I lost 8 pounds, but I know (or at least I believe) that most of it is water weight. A pleasant surprise this morning either way for sure! To everyone out there struggling to stick with it I will say "You CAN do it! Don't do it for someone else. Do it for yourself and be proud of yourself for it. Do NOT let the people around you drag you down. Don't wait for a good time, because there is never a good time." Take care and happy holidays!
