11/4/12

Well, the scale is starting to drop again---yeah!!! I did fail at one thing this weekend. I didn't make it to the gym. Spent most of my time running errands and doing housework. Today I had no excuse--I was just being lazy. I felt so worn out today and slept quite a bit. I feel better now. I had good intentions to go to the gym today, but didn't make it. I think I felt so worn out today because I got very little sleep last night. I don't know why, but I had a difficult time sleeping last night. Seems like the older I get the more trouble with sleep I have. Maybe getting to the gym and exercising will help my sleep cycle?? Novel idea, huh? I just need to force myself to get to the gym. If my back wasn't bothering me, I would choose to walk the dogs over going to the gym. Maybe I'll be able to do this once I get my core muscles in shape AT THE GYM so my back will have more support. It always comes back to getting my butt to the gym even if I don't want to go. I know I'll be fine once I start going and get a routine down and in place, but it's just getting it started.

I hear a lot of guilt here. ;) Just go to the gym! Don't even think about it... just go. You are going to NOT ever feel like it... but it will get easier and easier to go once you start. Good luck! Hugs!

The hardest part is just getting to the gym...once you're there and finish the workout you'll be so happy you went. :)

This is in no way meant to discourage you from going but, maybe it's a bit soon to be going to the gym. One of the things I dreaded about going to the gym was that because of my size, I just didn't phyically fit in some of the machines and others I had to modify how I used them because they were not designed for people of my size. It was very painful and humiliating. So, I concentrated on diet alone (and walking) for a while to get to a smaller size. Now I can use all the equipment as it was intended. All I am saying is, don't be too hard on yourself at first if you don't get to the gym. Losing the weight is the first goal and that is mostly accomplished through diet. Going to the gym is beneficial for so many reasons, such as strengthening your back, but the burden placed on our body to carry around all the extra fat is a more urgent issue. Of course, feel free to ignore me if your experience is different. I know what works for me doesn't apply to everyone.
